  1. we hit 48.2 last night. Today was around 47. Cold air draining in for a cold rain. Dec 19th we broke 50. have to go back into November to see that again. December was cold.
  2. That storm on the 18th or 19th if it could get its act together a little sooner. That would be a big one. Good to see a few chances starting to come inside of lala land.
  3. Up to 45 today. The snow pack is only 4 inches but it is dense.
  4. Another 1 " of fluff ..Looks like another scrape and peel with the shovel tomorrow morning.... Oh wait, we have some snow and freezing rain tomorrow night. So we can get some variety of scraping slush. I hate to be the debbie downer, but this length of cold with out a 12+ snow storm, I will take a 2023-2024 winter any day of the week.
  5. Please for the love of all that is well and good... we need a few days break. I have dumped more salt on my driveway in the past 2 weeks as i have done in the past 2 years. I have burnt more wood this year so far than all of last year. I am glad the Ice damns have been minor to point but I can't wait for the melt rings around trees to start in the next few weeks. I like snow but the last 5 weeks have been monotonous.
  6. We got a 1/2" here last night to go on top of the same amount we got on Tuesday night from a squall. Just enough for the town to get out and dump ton of salt that will ultimately end up stuck on my black truck.
  7. Well the heat wave finally hit. Bounced to 35.1. Maybe we get in on the back end snow flurry action here.
  8. Mine was the Halloween storm in 2011 which shut the grid down for a week in my neighborhood. My initial reaction was, what the eff was that?
  9. I am hoping the warm bump makes its way east. Right now the Temple mountain ranges says no, but I think it will see 35 or 36 for an hour or two. Still 32.7.
  10. If you have a generator and a wood stove, its all fun and games. I would hate to go through it with out the right tools.
  11. GYX just updated our high temps, down a few degrees and realigned with current temperature readings. The last update had us a 39 degrees at this time period. High was supposed to be 41. Now calling for snow showers this afternoon. Thats new.
  12. The '98 ice storm was incredible. I remember driving up from Manchester to visit my parents in the Wolfeboro area on that Saturday. It was the first day it would get above freezing and from their back deck all you heard many trees cracking as the ice softened. The Ice acted like a support structure, until it didn't.
  13. I have been bouncing between 32.5 and 32.9 since i got up 4 hours ago.
  14. About 1/8" of ice. 32.4 degrees here at 300 feet. Hopefully we get a few hours above freezing to eliminate any possible damage from the winds.
  15. Topped out at 38. Now 27. Slowly decreasing. GYX saying we bottom out around 26 and end up at 38 at sunset tomorrow. Still calling for 0.4" of freezing rain.
  16. We rebounded to 38 from a low of 6. Impressive. Milky sky. Revised GYX forecast had us topping out at 36. Sundown temperature of 32. Calling for about 0.4" of freezing rain followed by 37 degrees and 0.25" of rain, hopefully enough to minimize the power outage threat before the winds move in tomorrow night.
  17. I do appreciate that. 1 inch of ice is worse than 3 feet of snow in many cases. I do not feel that the local stations are mentioning this event past a minor nuisance.
  18. SNH could be in for a problem Monday morning. Not a December 2008 issue but something to monitor. Latest HRR
  19. 13 here. About 4 degrees lower than expected based on GYX forecast.
  20. This was a weather station less than a mile away from me but +500 feet.
  21. Our temps held out much longer than forecasted on the 19th. It was a good 3 or 4 hours longer than forecasted by the local mets. Where I live, its in a valley with 500 plus foot elevation change just to my north (within a mile). I took a drive up over the hills after that storm and they had lost all of the snow, while we kept a covering in the open areas. This should be an interesting storm.
