  1. Went up to the NEK to snowmobile yesterday.  They got pummeled with snow, over 2' in some areas.  We parked at the state park beach in Island Pond and rode up to Norton on the Canadian border.  It was a beautiful day to be outside.

  2. I left SR just as it started to warm up this morning. Ton of snow on that mountain and still deep in town Bethel. South of Waterford the pack took a noticeable hit yesterday. Word is they’re closing early this year along with sugarloaf because of staffing issues
Any idea of how early? We have a one night mountain stay that we bought earlier at discount and says we have to use it by weekend of the 6th. I thought that was odd but i doubt they're closing that early.

Perfect I mean perfect ski conditions.  Fast and furious with with a hair of wetter snow on the very top gliding the skis faster. Days like this are few in many a year. Ugh

Heading to SR on the 5th. Hoping we don't get any rainers or big warmup (other than this wknd) before then.

  4. Just the 200' difference from where I grew up (northern Morris County) and where I went to HS often made a huge difference.  The 1953 ice storm (I was in 1t grade then) was mostly rain in the lower spot, but took out our area's power for 6 days and filled the yard with 6' of cracked ice when the trees shed on day 3.  I don't think any of the larger trees got through it w/o major damage.
Ha. Another NJ "native". Born in Morristown, lived in Millington until 10yo, then moved to Maine in 1983.

Crap lift and marginal surface temps are probably doing it. It doesn't appear to be warm air aloft that's the problem.

And the snow totals are probably an over-correction on our part. Maybe needed a more uniform 1-2" in there for this morning's stuff.

so no changeover tonight or later today?
