  1. .75" in the Stratus I think its a combination of both. It certainly seems like we get storms much more than in the past but I have no science to back that up. As far as infrastructure IMO its not maintained as much as it used to be. I was commenting recently at work how NYSDOT repainted the lines on Route 207 and in spots they literally painted dirt and grass as the shoulder has eroded away. Its been that way for years now and does not get addressed. A little simple PM when it first happened would help the road last longer but it seems like the approach is to wait until it gets so bad that they have to repave. And even when they repave the best you get is a 'mill and fill' job, the roads never truly get fixed and rebuilt. Oh and NYS 207 is an official NYS bike route...yet there is no shoulder between Goshen and Campbell Hall. I'll likely bring it up with a meeting I have with NYSDOT again next week but to no avail.
  2. Ugh, all of that is such a pain in the ass

  4. There have been a number of drownings over the past week, wear a life jacket if going in/on the river.
  5. Low of 58 and a high of 68, sitting at 65 now. Refreshing but glad I don’t have a party today.
  6. A guy I know down in Chester NY got nailed with that hailer yesterday evening, tore up the siding on his house. Not the worst I’ve seen but it needs to be replaced.
  7. Yeah, not good for that but beautiful scenery, thanks for sharing.
  8. 1.02” for the week thus far with spotty showers around now.
  9. Can someone please point me to the study that shows a connection between the type of weather one roots for/loves and the influence that opinion has on the actual outcome of the weather? 5/15/18 had a personal impact on my life and as a result I no longer like severe thunderstorms. Trust me, it could have been must worse but I'm perfectly fine when severe weather misses my house now. Do I berate the folks on here who root for severe weather? Nope, that has no impact on the outcome. Specific to the heat and humidity this week there was an incident here in Goshen where an elderly person had to be taken to the hospital due to a heat related illness. The person had no AC in their home. Why? Who knows, maybe they should've worked harder years ago, maybe they have a disability, I don't know. So what did the cops do? Did they admonish people who were enjoying the heat while poolside? Did they chastise people enjoying the AC cranking in their McMansions? Nah. One of them donated an AC unit and a couple off duty cops installed it so the resident could safely return home.
  10. .13” here in the last 24 hours. 67/66 here now.
  11. Thanks for the invite this week…
  12. This comment got me to go back and compare my highs with KMGJ for Mon, Tue, Wed: KMGJ: 91, 93, 92 IMBY: 92, 94, 93
  13. Throw car readings into that mix too. I know my car thermometer runs 2-3 warm, not to mention any car will likely run high due to the ashplant its probably driving on but I digress. My station is not perfectly sighted due to hills, trees and the swampy area. I know my dews run probably even higher than your typical PWS due to the wetlands within 10 feet of it but you do the best you can. I do have a FARS though, which helps, my old Vantage Vue definitely ran high temps at times when the sun the was out.
  14. FYP 93/70 was yesterdays split with .02 before dawn and .28" in the evening. 72/70 currently
  15. I can confirm that as I was just south of that too and was impressed with the winds
  16. The storm that popped up NW of Syracuse is visible on the KDIX radar, impressive.
