  1. everyone leaving. NY state is in the top 5 for population loss in the last generation...on top of that there's nothing to do up there-you are literally not near anything of interest other than snow
  2. Likely wrong-doubt there was 22 inches anywhere
  3. yeah models backed away from that pretty quickly-seems like extreme cold/heat is often overdone in the long range-another reason to not look at OP models past 5 days
  4. that's about all we have had here too...tack on another (surprise) inch today
  5. What a bust here! An inch of snow after nothing was forecast. Road crews caught off guard-lots of accidents
  6. it misses east but it also holds energy back SW which it often does....
  7. weenie band on the far north of the precip shield giving me a coating here
  8. Yep. I'm about 7 miles from there...ridiculous it was never changed after post storm review
  9. Grossly undermeasured at BDR with 14 inches lol
  10. Still early but I get it...stinks around here
  11. Last few years-Amazing how the cold is always muted when it actually gets here. But in this case it's good-the cold that was modeled a week ago would almost certainly be mainly dry/cold/windy. We have a few weeks of slightly below to below normal temps which is great for snow chances.
  12. I haven't watched a local TV newscast/weathercast in years
  13. Even at that, at least around here we had snowcover straight through 3/1...the warmup after the snows was mostly dry so the pack slowly melted which was also good from a flooding standpoint. We did get a 3 inch refresher president's day weekend as well.
  14. I'm not complaining...just need it cold enough, too cold and you get suppression.
  15. they must be looking at last week's models which showed a more historic cold outbreak especially in the midwest....models have moved away from that so it's weird they (media) are still hyping it....
  16. A phase with what? The low zips east off Norfolk VA
  17. Way too much reliance on LR maps from OP models...crazy to see day 15 maps posted regularly....
  18. Some of those years it was like skiing on ball bearings as it had rained and then gotten cold. Snowmaking wasn't what it is now either...
  19. Happens. Hopefully we can cash in on something as the pattern relaxes a bit-but the chances for multiple storms appears to be dropping
