I don't remember 96 being that cool. But I'm sure it was. 2009 was bad since it rained most of May/June. July was cool/dry August had some short lived heat/humidity.

Might be more of an "in close" year like we have seen recently-seems like the long tracked hurricane has become a bit rarer past few years...

it's dusty here despite 2.5 inches of rain 2 mondays in a row-amazing how quick it dries up this time of year...can't imagine what other places look like

it's mostly convection so models will have a hard time pinpointing until we are 6 hrs out (HRRR time etc)
