Everything posted by BuffaloWeather

  1. Lake Erie is 1 degrees below normal for the date at 48 degs.
  2. It really feels like mid winter out there. Everything is snow covered and it's cold.

  4. Something to watch but I think it's a little bit too warm. I'd also favor Buffalo north with this one.
  5. I'm also leaning towards slightly below normal temps next 2 weeks.
  6. Alright I think ready for some 60s and sun before the next snowstorm
  7. -11 today around 2 locations in Jefferson and Lewis counties. That is insane for 11/13... https://forecast.weather.gov/product.php?site=buf&product=PNS&issuedby=BUF&format=ci&version=1
  8. That band west of Rochester is likely producing rates in excess of 1 inch per hour.
  9. Huge moon out there tonight allows Enough light for an iPhone to capture clouds.
  10. Well it was an intensifying low even if it was an open wave. Either way Central NY got much lower accumulations then forecasted.
  11. Does anyone know how much farther NW the system went to cause the dry slow across central Ny that was only in the hrrr and last minute NAM?
  12. Potential for some lake enhancement on SW flow on Thursday/thurs night.
  13. Picked up 10.2" here. A very heavy wet snow. Already over a foot on the year and it's only 11/12. Should be a fun winter!
  14. Some 30" totals coming out of Michigan with those full lake snow bands. Empire, in the upper Lower Peninsula, got hit with 30 inches in the past 24 hours, and Bangor, on the state's west side, got hit with 24.
  15. https://forecast.weather.gov/product.php?site=buf&product=PNS&issuedby=BUF&format=ci&version=1 Buffalo airport is over a foot of snow and its 11/12. My call for 5-10% above normal for the year is looking good. Some chances the next few weeks too. We don't have any really cold air but could be cold enough at times. Very up and down pattern coming up next 2 weeks.
  16. My dad got me an ariens 24" snowblower from one of his jobs. It started a few months ago, but this morning it just wasn't having it. He's coming over to try to fix it and if not I'm just going to buy a new one.
  17. Finished with 10.2" here. Current snow depth averages at 8.5". My snowblower didn't work, had to shovel my entire driveway. Definitely lost a lb or 2.
  18. 7.2" as of 11 PM here. Snowing at 1"+ per, much better flake size.
  19. Do you only have access to this if you are part of the NWS? Is this posted just because of the record or continuously posted throughout all storms?
  20. The precip across WNY is having some back building as the winds go NE and get added moisture from Ontario.
