  1. Oh I thought July/August were hotter. I just read something that its never been this hot this early in Phoenix. Figured July/Aug were warmer based on that.
  2. I didn't even realize it until it was almost too late. I did the hike from 10 am to 8 pm which was a terrible idea. I've done many hikes over 16 miles in one day, but nothing in that kind of heat. Its never hit 100 here in Buffalo, my body isn't used to that kind of heat.
  3. They say that, but I was just there last month hiking inside the grand canyon where the thermometer was 116 inside the canyon floor. No such thing as dry heat, its hot as **** out there. I drank gallons of water and my body after 16 miles of hiking shut down. Took 3-4 hours after I finished to process water again. It was beginning stages of heat stroke. We passed a girl with 5 EMTS around her throwing up. She had to be carried out.
  4. Insane, its only June, July/August are warmer out there then June is.
  5. Happening here 76 and full sun. Never trust a summer cool down with peak sun strength, very rare.
  6. Nice shelf cloud earlier today over the lake
  7. @Luke_Mages amazing shelf cloud! My neighbor texted me to go look out my backyard and rushed to the lake for this pic.
  8. Hugh Jackman landed in Australia 3 days ago and is locked inside a hotel for 14 days without the ability to leave at all for anything. Someone posted if hes able to go outside, and a resident of Australia said if he has a balcony. Pretty insane stuff like that is still going on. Life will never be the same in those countries again. New Zealand is another one. It's been #1 on my travel list for years and had a 16 day trip planned in April of 2020 to visit there. Going to be awhile before I can go there.
  9. Thats a solid line, bust out the timelapse for the lightning! Tons of it with that line.
  10. * At 641 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 5 miles west of Lewiston, or near Niagara Falls, moving east at 40 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
  11. A really nice storm in Niagara county, just left Beaver Island as it was coming
  12. Imaging having a low temp where Buffalo has only hit 99 once in hits history. Insane. I fear for the western folks, global warming is really impacting them. Lake Tahoe and Lake Powell will be dried up within the next 100 years. That is their primary source of drinking water in the Southwest. I talked to a few locals when I was over there and they are worried. Ever watch interstellar? That is going to happen out west.
  13. We actually canceled last minute my allergies flared up again and need to be 100% to do that range, one of the hardest in the dacks. Max/Min temps yesterday MAXIMUM 83 4:06 PM MINIMUM 62 2:09 AM
  14. Last update 10:37 pm EDT Jun 12, 2021 It looks accurate temps are 66-67 around airport at all the weather stations I'm seeing and last update was 90 minutes ago. It's 65 here.
  15. I'm heading to Adirondacks to hit up 5 more peaks tomorrow and will be making that exact drive. Leaving at 10 pm, hiking at 5 am, driving home tomorrow night. 3 of us going, 18 mile hike. Wish me luck with my allergies and black flies. @wolfie09 You're close to dacks, how are black flies over there?
  16. Agreed. We just found out what our country would look like if we gave everyone universal income each month. Look at how many people abused Unemployment during covid. Even now here in NYS with the additional $300 (federal)+$504 per week (max in NYS), no one can find people to work. Some banks/retail/food locations are closing during lunch time for their employees to take lunch breaks because they cannot find workers to come back. The majority of people will take the path of least resistance and effort. I do think health care is a universal right and shouldn't be tied to an "at will" employer that can fire you at anytime. For instance, I got laid off from a job about a decade ago and got injured playing soccer and my wife got kidney stones that same month after getting laid off. Cobra was insanely expensive, and that month had me max most credit cards. That shouldn't happen. If I didn't have cobra and that occurred a few months later I would have been in medical debt for years to come.
  17. GEFS show a 5-6 day cooldown. (Tues-next weekend) before we warm back up above average with eastern ridge.
