  1. Hey guys remember this thread? Still on front page, someone delete that thing.
  2. Australia locking down for another 2 weeks due to the delta variant. Is that country really going for zero cases? Going to isolate itself forever?
  3. Looks like June is going to finish a little over +4 for BUF. Climate change is definitely impacting here as well, just at a slower pace than out west.
  4. That month was more about consistent cold, I know we broke records but Buffalo all time coldest temp is -23 I believe? So beating a record by 10 degrees would put us at -33.
  5. I wonder what the inverse of something like that heat wave would be around here in winter. -30 to -50 across the entire area?
  6. Canada set its record high temp again today at 118. Florida has never recorded 110 degrees…
  7. 353 pm | The Portland Airport has officially reached 115°F. Before setting the all-time record yesterday (112°F), and the day before that (108°F on Saturday), the previous all-time record high temperature was 107°F set on Aug 8th & 10th 1981 & July 30th 1965. #pdxtst #orwx #wawx https://t.co/CBNhD7lJb8 — NWS Portland (@NWSPortland) June 28, 2021
  8. This is the most impressive stat, this is equivalent to Buffalo hitting 109 as the highest its ever hit is 99. Insane Quillayute,WA right on the coast is currently at 109F, a whopping 10F degrees above its all time highest temperature of 99F set on 9 August 1981. It's the 2nd hugest difference between an old and a new all time high (for long POR stations) anywhere in the world since 1983
  9. 10k+ peaks in Washington are on fire too. Can't run from this heat.
  10. Pretty crazy that Buffalo has never hit 100. I felt over 110 degrees in Arizona for the first time last month and it was insane how hot that felt. I love the heat but that was a little too much.
  11. Lytton, BC. Data as per Environment Canada: 46.6C/116F. https://twitter.com/ECCCWeatherBC/status/1409306438074310661?s=20 Canada just broke its ALL TIME record high by 3 degrees...Mind blowing stuff.
  12. A B.C. heat wave is shattering temperature records and meteorologists expect the weather to get even hotter over the next couple of days. Lytton, B.C., broke the record Sunday afternoon for the hottest temperature ever recorded in Canada with a measurement of 46.1 C, according to Environment Canada. The previous record high temperature for the country was 45 C, set in Saskatchewan in July 1937.
  13. The min last night was 77 in BUF. These overnight lows have been so high compared to average.
  14. We will be having our own heatwave here. Entire US on fire
  15. Some people have the nerve to say global warming isn't real. The west coast is done for. The freezing level was higher than all the mountains out there. Glaciers are essentially completely gone in the southern US. The mountain tops with snow all year in the west are likely gone soon as well. Over 100 degrees in the northern cascades...literally insane. It would be like Buffalo hitting 110 degrees this summer when the highest we've hit is 99.
  16. That hike was no joke, ran out of water on the way back. Went through 6 liters. Maintained a 2 mph pace for the first time in the ADK.
  17. Looks like the rain is going farther west in latest model trends wolf? Should be clear this week in ADK?
