  1. According to RadarScope around Ashland (just north of Richmond). Doesn’t have that “racing north” look to it yet.
  2. SN+, 1.5”. Since it only really started around 6:15 we’re almost average 1”/hr.
  3. Wow huge explosion of yellows around DC last few frames...should be cranking again shortly.
  4. You can see the radar shifting focus to NW of DC now, back to SN- in Takoma Park.
  5. SN+ on the southern edge of the big yellow band over Montgomery. For some reason the southern edges of these bands always seem to be the best.
  6. 0.5 inches at 7:00am, SN with temp down to 29 degrees - Takoma Park
  7. Subsidence around Alexandria filling in with yellows, that area about to get rocked.
  8. Went from nothing to light to moderate pretty quickly in Takoma Park. Dusting with temp down to 30.
  9. Ah ha, 1 pot per hour rates, I’m familiar with that. For myself, as a runner my tradition is always to go for a run right as the snow starts before it becomes impossible, so I’m heading out now.
  10. Meh, I understand it, I just don’t particularly like it or think it’s very useful.
  11. Yeah, it’s a pretty brutal way to go about it. They should really just make a forecast.
  12. Yeah it was also terrible during our light snow event that overpefmormed.
  13. Of course it’s the HRRR at range but u gotta like seeing the dynamics beat back the sleet line at the end of its run.
  14. This for me is my 3rd favorite storm since moving to this area in 2009. 1. Feb 5-6, 2010 2. Jan 20-21, 2016 3. This The reason I put this ahead of Feb 9-10 is because this one was a big reverse bust and broke a big streak of no good storms. Even halfway through the storm we weren’t sure if it was over. Last night around 7:45 walking the dog was one of my favorite jebwalks ever. **disclaimer, I was out of town for Dec 2009
  15. 11.5 inches at like 9:30pm last night, apparently it kept snowing til like 1 am so I’m calling a foot in Takoma Park.
  16. Before I forget I wanna note that the ICON did pretty well with this storm. Nailed the 2nd part.
  17. Measuring snow depths between 11-12 inches on an undisturbed picnic table. Still snowing lightly.
