  1. This current pattern threw a bone to the snow weenies, you have to remember that a month ago a lot of people here announced last rites in regards to winter.
  2. This is why I think the weenies will be insufferable this year if we bust in a way similar to 22-23 or even 16-17.
  3. Would precip be accurate that far out? There were quite a few times in the warmer months where there were several inches of rain on those maps over a month in advance only for it to go poof as we got closer.
  4. That snow map is a month and a half in advance though. Snow forecasts that far out are never accurate.
  5. If NC can get a dusting in early December then we’ll have to get something here at some point.
  6. Now that we're getting snow chances it's time to bring this back. I expect many rug pulls this season, despite the current pattern we can't win them all.
  7. Looks like this hasn't been bumped yet. Despite how bad things looked a month ago the tune seems to have changed around here so the futility markers might remain safe again this year.
  8. I did see some articles during the 2013-2015 period that said that all the snow in the northeast during those seasons was the result of the climate warming out of the "air is too dry to make flakes" range of temperatures that sometimes happened during the cold snaps of years past.
  9. Alright then. Based on the map 1” is still possible there but it would be pretty much localized to there.
  10. PSU is in Garrett County right? If so then if he can get at least an inch out of this then per his correlations write up from last year that would give a good chance for a snowy season region wide.
  11. In DC Thanksgiving is forecasted to be 13 degrees colder than today.
  12. So if PSU gets an inch of snow before December 1st the bust predictions the the snowfall contest will probably be the losers.
  13. So no can kick? Thanksgiving pattern flip is still on?
  14. So looks like we’ll be getting a “what went wrong” write up for this rain event?
  15. By the looks of it it’ll be quite a while before we flirt with that kind of warmth again.
  16. Meanwhile the metro New York forum is entering “is it ever going to rain again?” mode.
  17. It would be so fitting for our collective boom prediction bust last year to be followed up with our collective dreg prediction busting.
  18. So it’ll collapse on modeling on Sunday, got it.
  19. I can see it now. The Feb long range will be called “Feb will be rocking!” for a third year in a row and it’ll be yet another rug pull instead.
  20. Looking at the weather channel Wednesday will probably be the last 80 degree day for the year.
