    Eps want to retro the AK low heights westward which starts to build a favorable WC ridge. We may be able to time something before the calendar flips but I’d hedge we delay this some until after the holidays. Onto 2025…

    They are shorter and require maximizing the good stretches. Sucks we were only able to muster a rogue band from a Montreal clipper down here so when the next 5 day good pattern comes we’ll need to extract more.

    The KWFS index flipped suddenly this morning when it initialized during the clipper jack. The warm and dry winter outlook has been tossed.

    That’s right. Anything can happen and it did this time. There’s no reason to look at models and forecast. Just let happen what will happen and nobody knows that ahead of time.

    I take issues with their closures especially with something like this where the snow has ended. Save the closures for when it snows during school hours. Travel at 10am around town will be fine for buses. Roads are already wet anyway. I get it though, there’s more to the decision but it makes it really difficult on parents. Anyway, happy winter howling for a couple days.

    The warmth happens after this snapshot as the trough lifts out. The SE ridge builds and connects with the N Atlantic ridge while a trough starts to dig into Cabo.

    The bigger wonder is how sustained the WC trough becomes. Being buried in the Baja can be a pisser to lift out.
