  1. Yeah these storms are moving fast. That's a good gust. Hopefully things get wets for points north as summer progresses
  2. Just drove all the way to Waseca MN today. Was driving around with those storms along the 14 between Rochester and Waseca. Way cool to see the full storm cell structure. Too many trees in MI. I was loving it today driving with these storms too play with I will say Rochester MN was the driest area on my drive between MI to MN. Couple parts in southern WI were a bit dry too. Southern MI, Northern IN and northern IL are very green now
  3. I drove right next to that lower cell today as it was developing. It was very cool!!
  4. Glad to see SW MI did well. As you can see so did the northern 1/2 of DTX. Unfortunately I was on the southern edge and the greater totals just to my north. It happens. Just a bit annoying as yesterday morning my forecast was 2-3" and even the evening update had 1-2" totals. Some models agreed with this forecast but others had it just to my north. I think NWS did great but unfortunately for me the further north models were correct.
  5. Got woken up to Warning and sirens. The cell was moving perfectly to MBY. Moved my cars away from trees. Sirens turn off. Looked at radar. Per NWS: Warning canceled as storm lost severe capabilities. Next the lightning stopped 3 miles from MBY. Winds maybe gusted to 5-10 MPH. Howell airport => 0.7" of rain. Flint airport => 2.5" of rain. Models that had this system north => correct. Others NG.
  6. Not looking like a solid line any more. Plus I love how the storms are now firing to my east. I can see lightning flash from them. Oh well time for bed.
  7. Looks like you won't be to disappointed for not driving home.
  8. We'll see but I have seen many lines fall apart or be a shadow of what they were as they get east of Lansing. Just hard to get excited when the past few hours were all modeled to be very active and all I have is 0.02" so far. I would take hours of plain heavy rain as opposed to a 5 minute storm with <1/4".
  9. At least you are getting the rain. Dry pavement here right now. Quick showers that feed the north rains is all I am getting. . I hate when DTX this morning had MBY as ground zero for the heavy rains ... Flint northward win this one. Maybe I can get a storm when the backend goes through. No holding my breath that is for sure.
  10. Same. I was very surprised. I was expecting the ring of fire to set up much further north. This is what makes the weather so much fun. Mother Nature don't care what the models say!!
  11. I would have gone but no way with my agenda the next 2 days. Couldn't have picked a worse time for me. Hopefully MBY does well tonight
  12. One of my favorite Thunderstorm occurred during an ice storm.
  13. Of course it's 2 counties to my south. Surprise level => 0%
  14. You are a rain magnet like Josh's snow magnet
  15. I am very interested how this will work out. Must say I am always a bit nervous when DTX puts some of the heaviest totals IMBY. Hoping this evening/tonight will be the biggest event since the March snowstorm for MBY.
  16. I feel yah. Seems like the rich keep getting richer in this pattern. Hopefully todays system breaks that trend for us poor folks
  17. Here is one of the fun thunderheads this evening all around our area.
  18. I think Lima will get something in the next few days too! You had something go through AA today of course!
  19. I have been doing some landscaping. Once I get down about 4-5" it is pretty dry.
  20. Tomorrow afternoon and evening looks interesting but I am just not bitting on it yet. Yes I agree it has been another summer of no nocturnals. Still have a good 2-3 months. March was my best snow month. Come on September 1986!!
  21. I got nicked by that cell. Hoping the next one gets here too. I have pretty much been in the same camp as you. Kinda feels like this lately:
  22. Just had one of the cells go through here. Quick heavy rain and some winds (nothing that strong here). I wasn't expecting the stronger ones to be up there either.
  23. Not trying to belittle or make light the events in Vermont. But I would love to get widespread 4-8" rain totals like that.
