    There is a knoll with some big pines to the NW does a little blocking. Mountain Dairy behind that though so the wind comes ripping down that hill since it's all open. Best storm since I've lived here was Isaiahs since it came from the south. Watched the wall of rain come from Lebanon, consume Willi then deluge. The valley was convulsing from those winds. Watched my big double hickory fall down one half at a time in that.

    Just taking issue with wind chills in the teens. There was a light breeze at times. I spent the first half of the day loading my kiln with wood and the afternoon doing metal roofing over my new air compressor set up outside. If it were more than a light breeze I wouldn't have done that. That part of the view is SSE. Link in bio for what I do.

    Have you been outside? A bit of a breeze but wind chills in the teens? I worked outside all day today, I though it was a very nice day. Sun warmed ya up nice.

    Airplanes are way worse emissions wise if you care about such things. Somehow it's always the folks who feign concern over CC who seem to be living the jetset life. I'd rather drive both my big loud diesel trucks and actually do what I can in my own way than just tsk tsk folks who have bought into a culture of trucks, however lame it may be that they've turned into commuter vehicles.

    Gotta buy private sale. Dealers hose ya. Plenty of decent trucks out there if you're patient. Too bad most of em have 3' beds though. Glorified mini vans.

    My driveway has 160' of elevation change so the brake dust would be back as soon as I leave.

    If you live on a gravel road or have a gravel driveway it's a Sisyphusian task. Go for it in the burbs if that floats your boat.

    I weigh 600lbs and have a broken back so I just use a plow truck naked except for sandals. Am I doing it right?

    RIP. Some of my best morel spots were around ashes. I've got a few hundred board feet milled and a few 3' logs left. Ash will be in short supply in just a few years, sad.

    Plenty of oaks left here. Seemed to me like certain parts of town for hit a lot harder than others. I drove on the mass pike at some point whenever that was and it was slaughter there compared to where I'm at.

    Procrastinating cutting a triple maple on the edge of my yard for that reason. Gotta cut em individually even if it's awkwardly high. That one dead from the ash borer?

    If they're proper trees they're black cherry. Choke cherry doesn't grow very large, more like a glorified shrub.

    I can agree with this since I don't own a orchard. I would like some fresh peaches this year though

    My buddy has over 1000 peach trees. Always a risk in SNE but the killing frosts have been more frequent. No peaches for the past two years. He's on a hill. Could be one of those rare low lying hills I suppose.
