  1. Low temperature forecasts have been lowered for tonight, strange how the cold keeps winning
  2. Sounds like damn near medieval torture for those who like snow, and a place I am destined for happy happy joy joy. But I am guessing since Johnstown being a mountain town that averages 25" more than Pittsburgh it partly offsets the lack of big ones?
  3. Right it was likely issued after the holiday party when they were full of spiked eggnog
  4. For what it's worth(not much) I'm thinking a colder than normal January with normal snow. That special() 80's feel is back.
  5. Noticing the glancing cold shot with staying power, the theme of Nov-Dec has been over performing cold.
  6. I'm thankful for a majority dry next 10 days, the inane wet streak was killing holiday spirit throughout the land
  7. Question how much snow does your area average? I was looking into the Johnstown/Altoona region they get around 65-70" if what I have found is accurate.
  8. Remember we always have March as the new winter month
  9. It's like this - the analogs as Don S has eloquently described call for an awful <20" winter at this point. Now last year the analogs were very good(snowy) and we know how that worked out. Need the opposite to happen.
  10. Heard Elon Musk is building an Ark but good luck reserving a spot Has there been even 3 dry days this December it's been wretched
  11. Predictably models abandoned the idea of an east coast snowstorm next week. Giant troughs out west are not conducive for snow in this region. Depressingly Don S has updated and came up with a not so pretty 69% chance for <20" snow NYC +NAO +AO this month Are the 80's back?
  12. Redsky Weenie Handbook rule 47 - November Iranian blizzard brings 5-10" rain here in December and a pittance of snow.
  13. Didn't it snow last last week? And that rare middle east snow in Iran in November is killing us, always seems to prelude some atmospheric process that is detrimental to winter in the Mid Atlantic.
  14. Approximately .3" salt on the roadways in Bucks Indeed a trackable event with the salt, rub your shoes off well when entering a domicile
  15. ECM is a non event outside of some minor icing in Bucks
  16. My glass half full had a leak trends have been unfavorable ever since
  17. Taking a nice trip to the Tughill it should bury those guys
  18. Yeah i think the last few under performers got them cautious. This looks ok for N&W of I95 and is trending south to some degree. Also a positive note the ECM cuts off the precipitation soon after the change to rain for the snow/mix crowd so may not be one of those situations where you get the winter stuff and it is washed away. Glass half full
  19. Electric bill to run a freezer of that size...in the summer
  20. Still have my original NOAA weather cube from the 70's, time to dig that out for nostalgia.
  21. I said better than 50/50 never said no chance and that GFS is a garbage scow. Now if it somehow "finds" arctic high to the north which is possible then it is no longer a rain look. Big blizzard in Jan 2016 rest of winter was a sewer plant
  22. Come on man do you SEE the WEST, THAT IS NOT an east coast snow storm look, i feel like DT lol
