  1. Haven't had any measurable yet but it is right on my doorstep. Winds have had some pretty fierce gusts here earlier today. The temp is currently 67 (and it did hit 68 earlier), overcast, and breezy.
  2. Current temp here is 65 and overcast. I was out pulling some scallions (that grew over the winter in my raised "vegtrug" unit believe it or not) and got briefly splattered on with some raindrops. The main firehose is still to the west.
  3. Mt. Holly just upgraded the Wind Advisory for I-95 corridor on east to a High Wind Warning -
  4. Ended up getting 0.33" of rain yesterday (expected more) and a blip of 0.01" early this morning, with a low of 43. The past hour, there have been a number of breaks in the clouds revealing the some blue sky and sun. Temp up to 53 now, mostly cloudy and breezy, with some sun popping in and out.
  5. Ha I wish! Nope, I pretty much got rid of my grass.
  6. The grass absolutely loves this weather - cool and (somewhat) wet!
  7. Lots of fog out there this morning - but mainly around when the sun was coming up. Ended up with a few more blips of rain yesterday to bring me to 0.79" for the day, with a 1.06" 2-day event total. Hi/lo for yesterday was 49/43 and am currently up to 61 so far today, and partly cloudy. And more rain on the way (looks nor'easter-like too).
  8. Ended up with 0.27" of rain yesterday and 0.37" today for the first round. Next round is ongoing at the moment and up to 0.43" so far for today at post time. Temp is 44 with light rain.
  9. The winds dropped off after 9 pm last night and the temp started the expected decent from the mid-40s, bottoming out at 36 around 1 am. But then a breeze kicked in again not long after and mixed it all out, with the temp rising non-diurnally, and creeping back up to 40 just after 2 am. It pretty much held at that the rest of the early morning. Currently at 41 and overcast.
  10. Well I bottomed out at 34 (33.8) as a low this morning and am on the way back up. This was "warmer" than my low on 4/17/20, which was 30 after the winds went calm. In this case, the breezes never let up overnight or this morning. Currently 37 and sunny.
  11. Congrats on your (and my) 4000th post! I have seen some Chinese wisterias in Fairmount Park up in the trees. Getting it trained into a tree form like that pic is amazing! That is a huge tarp your wife made. That should hopefully keep the buds protected. Right now at post time, my temp here is barely 35 (34.5). I know it will drop just before and around sunrise (which is a little under 30 minutes from now), when normal diurnal temperature changes are happening, so have been watching closely. Dp is 19 so don't expect frost.
  12. I think because the storms were ahead of the front and that front is now on our doorstep!
  13. Sounds like a plan. The rain will have helped too because the wet ground will take longer to radiate away the heat than if it hadn't rained and the ground was dry!
  14. Yeah if you have young plants and can do so, covering might be prudent. Although I know in the past whenever I did end up covering mine, several times it ended up getting a bit windy the afternoons that I covered them (CAA before the winds went calm overnight like is happening right now) and I was fighting to make sure that the covers were secure and didn't blow off before it got dark. I did a major pruning on my earliest-blooming lilac last year, so it doesn't look like it formed any blooms this year (pretty much expected). The other 2 are normally May-blooming but are weeks ahead of where they should be due to the mild winter.
  15. Funny but the temp continues to go back up here. Now up to 55. I have lilacs with panicles expanded but closed buds. I am so over covering them (did that when they were baby plants). One of them tends to alternate-bloom and it is covered with panicles this year. I am hoping that whatever it goes down to as a low, it doesn't stay there for 4 or more hours. I know 28 and below is considered a "hard freeze" (which I think has its own NWS warning product), so hoping it doesn't eventually get progged for that, prompting a change to a hard freeze warning.
  16. Sun has popped out and rainfall is up to 0.18". May be swiped by another couple little bands if they hold. Temp still holding at 48.
  17. Temp down to 48 and getting some last of the lighter rain. Did have one additional thunder (total about 7 claps through the event , which was more than expected ) and have 0.15" of rain so far at post time.
  18. My sis texted that she was getting hail in Wyndmoor (didn't see any here a few miles away). Had at least 5 instances of thunder and a lightning. Temp is down to 53.
  19. Temp still dropping (down to 57). Getting some rain (up to 0.05" for the event so far) but a little heavier batch might swipe me...
  20. Getting some wind and had a single weak thunder. Temp is slowly dropping. Down to 61.
  21. Looks pretty dark to the west of here as the storm is moving in. The temp has "shot up" to 62.
  22. SPC just popped a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for the area -
