Hurricane Agnes

I had 0.01" rain late last night and another 0.40" early this morning. The low was a balmy 72 but the dewpoints have been atrocious today. Currently 81 with dp 75 and overcast. As a note - that high pressure to our NW has really been doing a number on the rain shield and keeping it away, despite the tropical moisture still being pumped up here.

Ended up with a high of 83 today with a few more clouds, after a low of 60. Currently 74 with dp creeping up and currently 64, and clear.

Had a low of 61 this morning before it bounced back up and eventually hit 79 as a high. My dp dropped as low as 42 around 1 pm but has generally been in the low 50s much of the rest of the day. Currently 75 and clear with dp 52. Definitely an amazing and rare late summer day!

Looks like the cold front is about here as I've finally started seeing dews dropping below 70 sometime after about 1 pm. Had a bit of patch fog here this morning with a low of 69, and it has been briefly hitting 87 for a high so far today (currently there now), with a dp of 66 and an active mixing breeze.

I got fringed by that with only 0.06" of rain. And now it's a steambath at 76 with dp of 75 and steamed-up windows. The stronger cold front is still back over the MW.

It was really juicy here this morning (got 0.09" or rain last night after about 9:30 pm) and when the sun finally burst through the clouds, the temps were off to the races after a low of 72. It did make it to 87 here before the clouds rolled back in again. Currently overcast and 83 with a dp of 71.

I actually managed to get some August send-off rain last night right before midnight (0.04"). Finished up the month with 7.62" of rain. Today was definitely one of those "unsettled" days with overcast early, a bit of sun after that, and then cloudy much of the rest of the day, with a high eventually making it to 79 (low was 65 this morning). Still not bad out at all and currently 77 and overcast with dp 66.

I had just stepped out about 15 minutes ago and it is definitely better than it was the past week or so although I guess the brick of my house is still hot and radiating, so it felt a bit warmer out than I had anticipated. lol The low was 62 this morning, which was pretty decent, although I am guessing tomorrow will be the "cooler" day. Currently 76 here with a dp of 57 and breezy. ETA - I did pick up 0.10" yesterday which takes me to 7.58" for the month (assuming no more until Tuesday), after 10.97" last month.

I just came in from refilling my hummingbird feeder and ugh. Temp is 81 with dp moving between 75 & 76. At least here, the sun isn't out blazing, although you can tell it's trying to break through but hasn't been able to yet. You can see that almost tell-tale tropicaly-looking clouds above although I know the main system will be moving well south of here. Might get swiped by pieces of the outer bands.

Have been getting odds and ends light rain and am up to 0.69" out that (so far), with the heaviest coming at a just over 2 1/4" per hour rates. The gust front toppled my patio umbrella (that was down and tied with the velcro and is free-standing but is on a heavy base and next to some heavy pots). Currently drizzly and steamy with a temp of 71 and dp of 70.

Avondale spotter reported a 60 mph wind gust.

Rain has commenced here. 0.01" so far. All kinds of lightning on the sensor. Temp is down to 79. ETA - has gotten heavier and wind-whipped. ETA2 - it toppled my patio umbrella that was down but is on a 26lb stand with an addition 20lb cinder block on it.

Even with the overcast, it has been really humid out there. Stuff right on my doorstep. Currently 84 with dp 73.

Ended up at 92 for a high yesterday and currently at a pre-sunrise 70 with a "lower" dp of 65. In other news, WPC has a rainfall potential from TD Laura posted (through to Sunday).

Here is a big wow regarding the Lake Charles Radar. As an obs, it was definitely more humid this morning when I headed out to the store, and is currently partly sunny and 87 (low was 69 earlier) with a dp of 72.

I left my GR2Analyst running overnight and caught one of the last images Laura's landfall before the radars in the area went offline.

I had caught some snapshots of the radar yesterday afternoon and one around 6 pm seemed to illustrate what happened - the pop-ups were streaming far north and somewhat south of the CWA. It was almost completely clear in between. Otherwise I did manage to hit 90 as a high yesterday and come this morning, the dews in the mid-upper 50s made this a polar opposite morning when compared to yesterday at this time. Currently 68, after a low of 66, and mostly sunny

Laura was declared a hurricane about an hour ago - Meanwhile, it was pretty soupy here this morning and still is. Currently mostly sunny with a temp of 82 and dp of 71.
