How much was OTG leading up to it?
Nothing.

@Damage In Tolland @JC-CT Went down to the Wendy's on Talcottville Rd.
Looking at the height of the plow banks and the cuts snowblowers have made there's not a doubt in my mind that EOR got at least a foot.

If it's right, it's fascinating - but his 11am and 2pm measurements don't line up at all with your noon measurement of 8-9 or your afternoon measurement of 13".
It snowed until 9PM here though.

I saw this which seems like the dude is very serious and I saw a 14” from N Cov
This guy must be close to where I live. All I have to do is turn onto Route 31 for a few miles and I'm in Coventry.

I'm wondering if the lack of measurements here has to do with blowing and drifting.
I do believe the cutoff is sharp back towards I-91. However if did snow there, as well as here, until about 9 PM.

I'm still not buying it. Canton reported 21, I used to live there before Walpole and we were always similar as Canton, Stoughton, and Sharon all border each other. 9 inches higher is so much more. Qunicy at 30, Canton 21, Sharon 30...it doesn't make sense. The band skipped over Canton?
Too much blowing and drifting. We're the reports all from trained spotters?

I’d rather go snowless than live S of Boston.
Boston is a beautiful city, but I can't stand it's culture.
Pioneer Valley or Berkshires for me, please.

So there's like no measurements for Tolland and Hartford Counties, so I'm just going to guess I got 15".
@Damage In Tolland what did you get?
-
Hard to tell visually how much I've got here but I'm guestimating 6".

There are a lot of people in CT expecting 2 feet. I think they'll be a bit disappointed lol
You know there's some Joe Blow out in Salisbury who thinks he's getting 18-24"

I think it's in honor of James from the cape.
I thought you were talking about Channel 3's name, Bobby.

I really like the name given to the storm.
It was my kindergarten nickname. I hated it.

-SN here in Vernon.

Going by obs here and METARs, transition from virga to -sn seems relatively uniform S -> N.

The RAP has been slowly ticking slower and deeper with the low for the past several cycles. And even then, the outcome might be slightly west of it because it keeps initializing with the trough not as amped.

Imagine it being the 1800s or earlier and not knowing this shit was coming.

BTW Channel 3 named this Winter Storm Bobby.

Actually buoy 41002 has a 1002 mb pressure, so it's probable that the initialization of the SPC is splitting the difference between the RAP background and the actual ob.
SPC 22z sfc:
22z RAP hour 0
-
If the SPC mesoanalysis maps are to be believed, when comparing actual hour 0 to the latest RAP initialization, the RAP initialized with the SLP 2mb weaker and with a slightly broader trough.

I wouldn't change a thing if I were a TV met. I'd call for a general 6-12 statewide and say west of the river could see less than 6 and east of the river could see more than 12.
As a matter of principle, I will stick with my personal guess of 12-18 for I-91 on east.

Inside 12 hours until formation and BOX is straight up tossing the models. Bold. Will be interesting to see how this pans out.
Mets don't answer to the models. They answer to science. The science must lead them to believe something else.

Hence why saying Tolland County got less than a foot is foolish.
There was a mini death band down 91 for a few hours last night.
