  1. Central NC: “Oh, NAM. You look fantastic. We’re going to have a wonderful evening.” NAM: “I’m feeling nauseated. I need to go home early.”
  2. Meh, I’ve had enough rain lately. I’d just like to see some snow cover on the grass before grilling season.
  3. I’ll trade someone to my south 1 degree of temp for 0.2” of QPF. Anyone? Anyone?
  4. I had a bad feeling about this system, but got caught up in the wishcasting. My 1.5” for GSO was too optimistic. We’ll be lucky to get a dusting on the mulch.
  5. Maybe, but I might need to some QPF for that to happen. I’m not worried about temps here. I’m just afraid that we’ll be short on moisture.
  6. It’s quite in the SE forum. Either everyone has given up or they’re out getting milk and bread.
  7. What? Do you have a problem with the sky or clouds healing?
  8. The Mid Atlantic forum now has a thread for this week’s event. They’re whistling for this dog to come northward.
  9. We could see both a mulch dusting and three inches of snow within the same zip code. I’m one mile south of the Guilford/Rockingham line. I’ll be lucky to see dusting.
  10. Things are coming along great here in our northern Guilford rice paddies. Perfect timing before the early foot traffic hits the farmers’ market. But, seriously, this is becoming absurd. We should be able to bank all this water for when we’ll really need it in August.
  11. Look, folks. More rain on the way. This is getting ridiculous. My lawn is like a bog garden at this point.
  12. I don’t know about you, but I’m right at 40” of D10 fantasy snow. This winter has rocked on paper.
  13. My winter 2020-2021 outlook: bitter cold, below-average temperatures and bone dry from Thanksgiving to St. Patrick’s Day. In other words, the exact opposite of 2019-2020.
  14. Gargling moonshine will cure the coronavirus? Any recommendations for curing poor punctuation and syntax?
  15. I need to resolve to never read another long-range winter forecast again. Forget a three-month forecast: we can’t even get three days right. We might as well resort to palm reading or pig entrails.
  16. It’s official. The winter of 2019-2020 can’t bring up its grade no matter what happens over the next month. This winter gets an... F
  17. KFCX radar is down due to a Verizon communications failure. ”America’s most reliable network.”
  18. Mark my words: six months from now—when the drought monitor map is painted orange—we won’t be able to buy a drop of rain.
  19. I’m really not too eager to see 3 to 5 inches of rain on top of already soggy soil. Around our back patio, we have four downspouts that have outlets running under the landscaping. I spent yesterday cleaning out three of them in preparation for this week’s Noahic event, but I’ll be darned if I can’t find the fourth one. It’s covered under mulch and soil and I’ve poked a prodded everywhere with no luck.
  20. Well, I’m usually pretty reluctant to throw in the towel, but looking long range doesn’t leave me too optimistic. At least I saw flakes and a very light mulch dusting last week, but this season has been miserable. The worst soggy and tepid winter in ages.
