  1. Orange County schools haven't been in session since January 23rd. This is their 8th snow day in a row.
  2. If we get another inch of snow, Wake County will cancel school for the rest of the week.
  3. Wake County will cancel schools for anyway for tomorrow though, out of "an abundance of caution".
  4. The Feburary 12th, 2014 snow happened on a Wednesday. I went to work that morning like everyone else. It started snowing around 10 or 10:30 AM and then everyone started leaving. Even though I lived 5 minutes away, it took me 20 minutes to get home. Some of my co-workers had to abandon their cars and walk home. Thankfully, Wake County had already canceled school that day. https://www.ncrabbithole.com/p/raleigh-nc-greatest-snow-picture-winter-weather
  5. "Brick, let me get this straight. You took all your money and bet it *against* the Northwest trend?" "I thought the Triangle was due!"
  6. Maybe one year we'll have a volcano erupt at a VEI level of 7 and it will snow again in the Triangle.
  7. They need a map for the sleet/snow/ice event in January 1999. I got an additional week of Christmas Break from that storm.
  8. Don't forget Durham and Chatham county schools as well.
  9. Same here. well I got a little bit of rain, but the big storms moved through north and south of me.
  10. That's because we only care about North Carolina weather on this board.
  11. It's 76 degrees in RDU, and it's 76 degrees in Boone, NC. That doesn't happen often. I usually count on it being 10 degrees cooler in the mountains.
  12. Am I wrong in thinking that this Spring has been cooler than usual (At least in the triangle area)? In the past, I remember the weather seemed to "flip" from winter to summer, but these cold mornings seem to be lingering around for a lot longer.
  13. Longtime lurker here. I just registered an account so I could ask a question. You guys seem to be taking this storm way more seriously then anything else this winter. Am I correct in thinking that there is higher confidence than usual that this will pan out? Should I start preparing for an ice storm and a multi-day power outage?
