  1. If there’s no advisory and I get 1.5”, I certainly enjoy it less than if I get 4” under a warning, advisory, or neither, yes.
  2. This hobby objectively sucks and should probably be in the DSM.
  3. If you ever met my in laws, your question would be answered.
  4. My in laws live in Warren and staying with them isn’t worth seeing snow (not with this storm obviously but in general).
  5. Probably. Honestly one decent snowstorm would make all the difference at this point. Doesn’t even have to be March 1993. It could be a solid 3-5” event.
  6. To be fair, the NAM solution is pretty damn stupid. It brings a bunch of freezing rain in (.3”) which won’t happen.
  7. Someone help me understand the feud between @KPITSnow and @Rd9108. Seems the beef has been going on for years and years.
  8. I sure am glad those beltway elites aren’t stealing our snow, yes. That would be the real kick in the teeth.
  9. Good, then I don’t have to live through this climo for another winter.
  10. It just sucks. A week into January and we’ve had 2.1” of snow.
  11. We’re going to have back to back years with <20” of snow. I can feel it.
  12. That’s what’s upsetting. It’s the type of storm that would have NEVER produced a drop of rain 30 years ago.
  13. It shouldn’t be too warm to stick, it’s prime January climo with a storm passing well to our south and east.
  14. 663 days and counting since our last advisory level event. By far the longest such streak since 1990.
  15. Christ, the goddamn rain is on every short range model that is currently running. Fuck this shit.
  16. It’s done. Rain while a low is centered in North Carolina, in January. Our climo is misery.
  17. NAM mixes it to hell too. Stick a fork in it. WHAT THE FUCK DO WE HAVE TO DO TO GET AN ADVISORY LEVEL SNOW AROUND HERE? IT’S BEEN 22 FUCKING MONTHS.
  18. 3.7” at 10:1. All the mixing issues and shit cut the kuchera in half.
  19. 0z HRRR was garbage but sometimes it has bad runs.
  20. The last snowstorm we had was that 9” event in March 2022 and they rolled with an advisory. Sure, it was a weekend in the middle of the night and most fell in a few hours so they probably didn’t have time to change it before it was too late.
  21. They’ve busted hard with the last few rainstorms forecasting way more rain than we actually got so maybe a little gun shy.
  22. Yeah, you’re most likely right. It’s just this looks…strange.
  23. NWS point and click and zones still seem wonky, as far as timing, probabilities, amounts, etc.
