Do you think its gonna be windy on Tuesday and Wed? I sure hope not.. or maybe just a light southerly breeze. A brisk westerly can mess up these March Early Spring days.

Goes to show how variable an average is with a relatively small data set. This tells me that the last several years are closer to what the average actually is over climatological times.

Yeah I was 15.. living in Dundalk at the time. We had about 11 inches and a lot of sleet.. this marked the beginning of my hobby.. first time I ever heard the term "weather model"

YAY! Thats the post I was waiting for. Your pretty far north.. but the radar is picking up on a lot of snow echos where the heavy bands are setting up. Frederick is Heavy Snow.. maybe we should just be patient

I would expect cooling over night.. I think the 06z sounding should be more telling

Chill says maybe not.. IDK.. if we hold on to snow for a 6-8 hours we are gonna win pretty big up here.

This sounding says Baltimore is snow for the hours leading up to 18Z.. but of course.. it really cant predict that level of detail

The sounding at 18Z for Baltimore county says that it is just about ready to sleet.. that tells me that the 850s hold on until just about then (per the model)

mid February 2015 featured a very cold stretch of record breaking temperatures for our region.. hands down the coldest stretch we have ever seen

The GFS gives the Baltimore-dc corridor 5 inches in the 6 hours leading up to the change over.. if you can believe that it stays all snow up to or around 18Z, then this would be a legit event. Should be fun to watch... Although we are not seeing the big totals from last couple of days.. this quick hitter warning criteria type event should be very impactful and fun to watch!
