  1. There is probably some potential maximum that is right around the 130 mark... so its cool to be able to observe it! if they had those sensors peppered throughout that region for the last several hundred years I am sure that they would have seen regular 130 readings. I guess also with sunspot activity, that max might fluctuate.
  2. OMG!!! @Mrs.J thats my cat T. I need to upload a picture.. but they are identical!
  3. Looks like maybe some storm surge for the southern eastern shore!
  4. How is this site developed? Do they use some sort of forum service that they "brand"/"customize" as american weather or does someone develop/ maintain the code for all of this?
  5. Me and the boys got to see a water spout in Ocean City.. probably about mile off the coast at ~80th street. The storm had some wild rotation and once it got off the coast it formed a water spout.. that is the second one I ever witnessed. The first one I was on a boat and it was hit directly by the it.
  6. I just found out that I am off all three of my jobs tomorrow! My full time gig has been celebrating June Teenth for a couple of years now.. and the Fed gig is now closed tomorrow.. so I just called out of third one.. I just went from a 19 hour day to 0 hours.. and I am in OCMD for the air show.. shaping up to be a good weekend
  7. That really awesome man! I plan to do something similar when I turn 50.. retire in to the Federal Government. I have been a contractor for 12 years for various agencies and I have been thinking that the day I have had enough and want to kick back and relax.. I will just convert to an employee.
  8. you do uber too? oh man.. I love uber!!! every once in a while if I get an especially rowdy bunch they will invite me along for drinks and I will turn off the app for a while!
  9. Usually when there is a storm spinning off a front somewhere that high up in the north atlantic they dont bother to name them... its just not real tropical to me..
  10. This is fake.. I feel like this is how we got to so many named storms last year
  11. Can you recommend the captain? I really want to take my son on a rockfish charter...
  12. Hotel staycation fund. Every person should have a hotel fund for these specific scenarios.
  13. What? I wasnt gonna actually do it.
  14. Ugghhh.. I am sorry to hear that dude. I would press hard to get the insurance to pay for it. Its a mistake. Thats the point of insurance. People make mistakes and accidents happen. I a just glad you are okay. I had a 2014 nissan sentra with 150,000 miles and a dying transmission.. with an insurance claim is was worth $6,000. I ultimately only got $1,000 from car max for it. I was seriously thinking about driving it in to some water somewhere or leaving it in a flood area where I knew it would get totaled.
  15. I think I found you on Twitter!
  16. Welp.. got break though COVID.. on day three.. praying that it doesnt get any worse. When I breath I sort of feel like I am snorkeling.
  17. yesterday was the first time in many years that I have been hit by two legit severe storms in one day. The second one was really wild... looked like those pictures of super cells coming in over the plains.
  18. My bearded dragon love cicadas!
  19. I was told by some of the senior members of my subforum that I needed to come here to post my COVID misinformation.. this is exactly what I am talking about @MJO812 . Anyone who says that the effectiveness of the natural immunity is "not yet known" and therefore should not be counted is full of shit. You dont need to have an advanced degree in Epidemiology to know that the human population has built in natural defense mechanisms to airborne upper respiratory illness. We know 100% for certain that already having it will provide protection for the vulnerable population. This was the science that the "Trust Science" assholes were refusing to trust.
  20. Damn.. @wxtrix looks like your last message got removed
  21. @mappy I am definitely interested in the softball league!
  22. No no.. you actually brought up the vaccine hesitancy thing.. I am simply pointing out that I think that a lot of people who arent getting it.. are doing so because they do not believe in it. That they think that there is a better route. At any rate.. guess what! one of my coworkers is in the hospital for COVID.. young/ healthy. I dont really buy in to a lot of this stuff.. but I guess sometimes people get severe cases.
  23. I dont think it is vaccine "hesitant".. Its more like "vaccine opposed" I think a lot of people thought natural immunity would have been more effective. I know two health care professional who are in this court.
