It does suck how much summer has been reduced, I’ve seen it throughout my school experience. Ultimately I think you are correct a lot of places are heading that way, if it is pulled off well it might be ok. The snow day are way more useful and nice in several aspects than 7 extra days of summer vacation also virtual learning sucks instead of having a day off to play in the snow or hyper focus on short term changes in the hrrr as it’s falling. I will say the 14 days off fcps gives us is excessive, and now after 5 snow days it’s virtual. So why are the 14 days still built in. It’s stupid

The gfs has gone from no storms through the 15 day runtime to now showing multiple storms semi consistently within 10ish days. So while the storms are fantasy it still shows a pattern change to a more favorable environment for storms. It is showing the possibility for a reason.

I'll counter your imagine with this. It shows how the basin is becoming more active due to improving conditions.

If there is one other time I will take a great winter pattern outside of winter it would be now.

I just walked outside and it was sunny out but there was a storm right nearby. No clouds were overhead but the downdraft from the nearby storm carried rain out to my house when the wind gusted. It might be in the top 10 weather experiences of the year for me.

What is up with the severe warning being up north instead if near the radar.

It did that yesterday too. Is there something about this type of airmass that makes models underestimate storm activity?

As other posters have said the enso state is not everything, if anything you are complaining about our base climo which has never been good for snow. It’s like you expect every year to be a 2009-2010 and then get upset when it does look that way. This is all baring, of course, that it’s only July and our first snowfall is at least 4 months away. It’s ok to feel upset but this constant negativity is a bit much especially when winter is still so far away.

Just canceled my end of year outdoor swim thing. At least I’m in AC now, the outflow was pretty cool though lots of wind.
