Nobody is picking on anyone.
My opinion, which probably doesn’t matter at all, is that on nickel and dime events, where model consensus is sketchy at best should not have threads started until 36-48 hours out, where some consensus has been reached.
You might think it’s bs, but it sure seems to happen a bunch. Maybe it’s jus that time period where models get past their biases but it sure seems like every time we start a thread outside of about 2 days, the storm trends downhill fast. I think a 48 rule would be great. Unless it’s one of our historic storms. 48 hours is enough time to get all of the meaningful discussion in.
I’ll chime in with elevated to get uniform temp above and below. I may be off here, but I’ve never agreed with the waiting to clear it for 6 hours either.
