She loved that I was there! And yes the talking about maps was fun. I did touch upon GIS a little, very broad overview of using spatial information to make pretty pictures hahaha. Mostly I focused on maps as a whole, how you can map anything and then what courses and things I learned to get me to my big girl job. I thought it went really well!

I am soaking up every minute she lets me be around because I know it will end eventually.

It will.  My "little" girl graduated from HS on Monday. :-)  and :-(

Empty house this fall as I'll have 3 kids in college this year.

Awesome. Were they packed? We packed up and headed across the BB for our post ride beer.

edit: it just occurred to me that you were saying that I should hit up RAR. Duh.

:-)  I wish I could have made it down there.  I had Cataract surgery on Thursday and am still under Dr. Orders to take it easy....:(

I have plenty in the fridge thought :-)

Beautiful day in Cambridge. Started out chilly and very foggy, but by 9AM, it was stellar. Perfect day for my niece and I to do her first century ride.

That slight milky looking haze that's especially visible in the western sky right now where the sun is... that you've probably absentmindedly assumed are thin high clouds ;)... could this haze be from the recently erupted volcano in Russia?

There is a large brush fire north of Manchester....Maybe smoke from that?

    Drove by te

Drove by the damage along Newton Road and 404 this afternoon on the way home from Bethany.  Quite a few homes severly damaged, and the interesting thing is that they are spaced so far apart. Saw a lot of roof damage as well.  Tons of trees down.  2 or 3 of the large farm pivot sprinklers were twisted and flipped as well.

I've been WFH for 6 years and don't miss the commute one bit. Feel like covid made people even worse on the roads.

Me too for the past 4.  Think of the $$ you are saving from Gas alone.

Forget what any of the models say. I came home and my teenager was washing dishes. On his own. Without being asked. It’s gonna snow, y'all!

isn't that like an episode of the twilight zone.  You get bonus points if they also change the litter box!

the liverpool/man u game was something else too fwiw

That was a total shocker.    Man U had been playing so well lately too and had a majority of the opportunities before Liverpool struck in the 43rd minute.   Then the floodgates opened up.   I felt bad for DeGea, not much he could have done.

It is insane! When the amount came through US on her card I was surprised it was so cheep. For 2!

It is such a wonderful experience for these kids. She is in England till the end of May. She is having an amazing time!

Great for her!  Mass transit is really head and shoulders above that which we have in the US (outside of major cities).

I wonder if they have a dysfunctional weather blog family over there too. :-)

I just realized St. Patricks Day is on a Friday and day 2 of the first round of the NCAA tourney.  Needless to say, I’m taking that day off from work.  :weight_lift:

:-)  My Son's birthday on on St. Patrick's Day.  He is 22 this year.  Depending on how well his basketball team does getting into and prolonging their postseason, he will probably be out at Brewer's Alley in Frederick watching and having a good time :-)

I couldn't give a shit about any other sport except for soccer (and when the Eagles are good), and this is the time when soccer ramps up like crazy. Love it!

    Great Man U/Arsenal game yesterday.

Right now I've been playing Teardown. I admittedly don't have nearly as much time as I did 10 years ago to play. I played a TON of L4D2 before.

I recently went to GOG.com and bought the old Goldbox D&D games I played as a teenager.  Playing Curse of the Azure Bonds now....My family just ridcules me. :-)

Yeah, it's full horseshit what is happening. Seriously. I've already stepped back from posting as much because of how folks are acting. People need to fucking grow up.

Agree.  I'm here to learn from everyone and some snarkiness is good, but it sometimes does get out of hand.

We have lost some folks who put sincere effort into helping us all learn because of this in the past few years.
