And a drain line from my kitchen sink decided to crack and leak all over the place.
best part? It was in the wall and not in the crawlspace. That would be too easy
Sorry to hear that! My MIL had a slight leak on the hot water stop valve under her sink. Must have been leaking for weeks. Damaged the cabinet and carpet under the cabinets and had all kinds of nasty stuff that had to be cleaned up this weekend. Wet nasty Particleboard is the worst stuff to pull out......Good luck!

On a non-football note, I saw the new Spinal Tap movie last night. It was well done and I suggest seeing if you enjoyed the first one.

It is, but is there enough time to split him and Adley...I think not.

Basillo 8 year Contract extension.
Wow
Just saw that. So where does Adley go? Trade bait, DH or First Base?

Looks like Bradish and Wells will be back in the Bigs and pitching in the next 2 weeks.
Add them to Rogers and Kremer, and you have the makings of a solid rotation with Povich and others in the mix, and Grayson possibly back next season. That said, can't count on so many guys rebounding from serious injuries, so we need an actual GM who will be aggressive in signing a top tier pitcher in the offseason.
Don't forget Eflin as long as he can stay healthy. I know this season is done, but....if the bizarro world somehow unfolded where they could somehow eek into the last wildcard spot, I think they could make things at least interesting. Please feel free to ridicule me, but they seem to be going back to the fundamentals somewhat and I think they will at least play spoiler to some of the teams looking to make the postseason.
All in all, they need to be healthy for a full season to make any run at the postseason and that definitely didn't happen this year.

No hits since the first 3 batters of the game.
Left in the 5th last night.
The look does matter. They need pitching and no free agents will want to come to Baltimore if management looks this incoherent. Who the heck is Greg Allen, and why is he now starting in CF?

Won’t be long until 95L is a TC.
Was in Myrtle Beach last week. Had a lot of rain throughout the week. On the drive home, was checking the radar as we were passing through more showers. This system started to form along the front and had started to get the counter-clockwise spin around the low, which I thought was cool and wondered if it would have enough strength to stay together. Looks like we have Dexter this morning!

Went to get the mail and lower dp air is definitely filtering in. Has that late August sound/feel to the air out there. Hoping I can open my windows for a few hours tomorrow morning to get some fresh air inside.
Same here. Almost feels "crisp" without the mugginess. Enjoy all!

My aunt said to use Johnson's & Johnson's creamy baby oil with Aloe----the green bottle. Have used it this summer before i go to work outside and it seems to keep the bugs away.

The Orioles have now given up 20+ runs in a game and scored 20+ runs in a game in a single season.
Down 6-0 they win 22-8.
Glad I stayed after the top of the 6th. Left at the start of the 7th when up 11-7. Was nice to see them finally be able to get some hits.

It's like an episode of Shameless. My high school soccer coach had a saying. "You guys can't stand prosperity" He would also say it in t similar situations where we had a lead and let the other team back into the game. His voice has been resounding in my head all season long.

I think a hire like that is coming, but for now they seem content letting the team struggle/learn and get picks. One more year of this and it’ll be go time…if not sooner…if Keefe doesn’t show improvements. This upcoming draft is huge for them.It is. They do have some good building blocks that just need experience. Happy to see a vets like Middleton and Smart there to teach. Still miffed about the draft lottery; too much of a coincidence to not make you wonder. OKC did a great job building their team. Hoping the Wiz can do the same.

The wizards got hungry over advanced analytics, too. Some of the formulas in “Basketball on Paper” are wild (if you want to have fun, look up “individual offensive player rating”). I get it, it all comes down to points per possession, 3 > 2, a 3 = bucket and a free throw, etc etc, but you gotta put the right talent in place to implement some of these sabermetrics. Not to mention, advanced analytics are descriptive, not formulas that explicitly tell you how to win. Fun and interesting topic, but it can get overused.Talking with my sons about the Wiz (One who played D3 and has friends in the NBA) and we were wondering why they don't look to hire Mike Malone or Taylor Jenkins. Both have built teams and with the young talent the Wiz do have, could be a good 2-3 year project to build a competitive team.

TOR for sussex county, DE. this storm went kidney shaped as soon as it fired
This is the cell that I was watching on radar that formed on 404 between Denton and Bridgeville.
We just settled on a place in Millville and are heading down in about 30 minutes. Too bad I didn't go down earlier, would have been driving parallel with the storm.

Did you mean New Jersey? no TOR's issued for Delaware yet
I pulled up radarscope when I saw that note and there was a strange correlation coefficient readout between denton and bridgeville on 404. Maybe this is what he saw?

Great pick by the Ravens. A player they coveted. The best player available was also a position of need. LFG!
Goodbye Marcus Williams. You wont be missed.
He also seemed genuinely excited to be picked by the Ravens too.

Yep. With Angel Hernandez gone, Buckner is clearly at the top of the MLB umpire suck list.
2 calls stick out in my head from the game last night. 1. The called strike on Gunnar when he checked his swing. There was no way he saw where the check swing stopped....and wouldn't ask third for help. 2. Soto was pitching to Woods in the bottom of the 8th and had a pitch that was a little higher than exact center of the zone, which led to a walk. walked.
I know that the O's problems are much deeper than the umps, but these are calls that can't be missed and were game-changing calls. MLB needs to get to a spot where video review can be used to help correct these issues.

What are the chances that the Wiz do the right thing and hire Mike Malone or Taylor Jenkins? Need a proven winner of a coach in there. I hoped they hired Tom Thibodeau when he was available before the Knicks signed him.

It's a little trickier in college, I think. While some people don't like the gather step in the NBA, I like that they have a defined rule where basically if you pick up your dribble with one or two feet on the ground (aka gather or zero step), then the next step is the pivot foot and the following step is the 2nd step (legal). It would be illegal in that case for the pivot foot to return to the floor before the ball is released (3rd step), but that's not what Queen did. He gathered with his right foot on the floor and took 2 steps. In college, I suppose it would technically be a travel, but a little more debatable depending on which team you root for lol.
During the dribble, there is no "Gather" in Highschool or College. It is about when the Pivot is established. Once established, it cannot be picked up and returned to the floor. In Queen's case, it looked as if he established the pivot, took a step and then returned the pivot to the floor as he was shooting. It was close, but he also did the same on a few of his drives. If they let it go earlier in the game, they weren't going to call it there.
When a player receives a pass, they can also travel by lifting the pivot before dribbling. You can only pass or shoot once you lift the pivot before dribbling.
For those of you interested, it's covered under rule 4-44 in the NFHS Rulebook, and as far as I know, the rule is also applied at all college levels.
