  1. I tried to transplant my latannas into a larger pot to keep in the garage over the winter. Well, didn't work. I m ust have shocked them, even thought I made sure they had enough water. Probably distressed them.
  2. Could you imagine the chaos that would create? Another commutageddon, but worse.
  3. Gotta go with 2...I want there to be snow on the ground for a while.
  4. Meteor Sh1t. :-) I'll never forget that line.
  5. I could see that being the case. I'm fortunate enough that the two I have in school now are overachievers. They push themselves on their own and I'm honestly very hands off. My older son who is a sophomore in college is struggling this semester with the virtual learning. We all need to remember that all kids are different, and all of them learn in different ways. I don't disagree that some of them might be lazy, but maybe they don't know any better. All in all, it is the responsibility of the parents to be involved to help advocate when their children need it.
  6. If they are from your house...check with your insurance company. Might be covered.
  7. too bad they missed the opportunity to trade Ingram, may have been able to get a decent lineman for him at the deadline.
  8. I wish they would stick to a 2 back running game. I know 3 different types of backs can be a confusing scheme for defenses to play against, but using 3 doesn't give any one of them a chance to get in a rhythm when they are only in for 2 snaps then out for 25 minutes.
  9. Thanks. Glad to hear that it went well for your two. My two both seemed happy as well. I do know that my 10th grader had class sizes of 6, 5, 2 and 3; so a lot of students are staying virtual. I picked them up today and most of the busses were 90% empty. Luckily for my Senior, he had dual enrollment, but the course is at South Carroll in their "tech center" , so he is getting it in-person. He is a math/science kid, so this helps since it is English 101. :-)
  10. I have 2 going back today too....they are so looking forward to lunch. Happy they didn't pull the rug, but it probably will be yanked in a few weeks. At least High School Basketball is starting on Dec 7th....for now.
  11. Yep....right into my neighbor's new pool which I was never invited to use. ;-)
  12. Sorry for the Covid post, but my kid go to High School in Carroll county and all of the cased among those kids are from those who went to large parties. I understand that they probably are not at a high risk and will more than likely recover quickly (if not asymptomatic), but this has to fall on the parents. I have actually heard a few parents regretting letting their kids go. :-( I'm just happy that my kids are smart enough to understand the risk of spreading to their grandmother who lives with us...and have chosen wisely.

  14. Hollywood Brown put on 20 pounds of muscle, and they target him 2 times. I'm sure he was probably cloaked today, but I see nothing going deep to him to exploit his speed. I know the pass protection isn't there, but would have expected at least one look to him downfield on play action.
  15. Mine are doing really well too. THis is the first year I planted them and was extremenly happy with hoe they took. Are they perennial, or will they be gone once they die? I've lucked out with a few Gerber Daisies which have been reappearing for the past 3 years. ;-)
  16. I don't disagree that Covid was the main factor in making a company like Zoom take off, or that IBM has lost some marketshare due to competetion. The point I was trying to make is that the markets are so overinflated that a very diversified, stable company which has been a staple of the Dow for decades can be worth less than a relatively new company which has a niche product offering and has been in existence for a fraction of the time. This started with the tech bubble back in the 90s and those major daily price swings are what started to drive the markets on this strong upward trend. I remember the day Netscape had their IPO. It was supposed to IPO at $28 dollar range. The IPO price actually started trading at $75. The price shortly after the IPO rose quickly to the $125 range, where I had a friend buy some. By the end of the day it closed at $56. He was devastated. This is when the tech stocks started to appear, came in highly overprices and then disappeared within a few years. There are a lot which are able to survive, but the initial hype for a lot of these which have a very narrow product offering usually drives the prices up way too fast, and when the they no longer show the promise of future growth, there is no need for them and they slowly fade away until the next shiny object comes around. I really am not a fan of all of the greed the markets drive. It's kind of hypocritical that I work in the finance industry where everything is about making the next buck, but I like working for a Retail Brokerage firm where I can advocate for main street investors like you and me. The markets are driven by those large institutional firms and once they decide that there is no use (can no longer profit off of them) for certain stocks, they are thrown aside and forgotten.
  17. Trading has been wild in the past 9 months. I work for a large retail brokerage who was just purchased by one based in San Fran. It took about 36 years for our firm to hit 1 million trades a day. It took about 3 years to hit 2 million. Then 4 days later we hit 3 million. And 2 weeks later we eclipsed at 5 million. That was all pre-merger, and it has normalized back to between 2-3 million trades per day. I totally agree that we are waiting for it to eventually correct because it is so overinflated. When you have Zoom being worth more than IBM, there is something wrong with the markets.
  18. Quick shower passed through here about an hour ago. Sun is out now and up to 57.
  19. Flacco was a good QB, but the one thing I hated about his style of play was his lack of sense of urgency. I can remember many, many times when he would seem just outright lackadaisical.
  20. You forgot mention "stickage" as well.
  21. Really simple question here from someone who is not as smart as most of you are here....... Is it possible that the atmospheric memory theory is more likely caused by the overall conditions of the ground soil? Couldn't an area which hasn't received a lot of rain recently and has a very dry ground soil constitution (like the Manchester and Stephens City in the recent past) have issues with future precipitation unlike those which have currently, consistently hit the jackpot, like any area southeast of 95? Could those areas like Bowie, Prince Frederick and even Greensboro which have recently had higher rates of precip have an advantage because the ground is more saturated....thus allowing incoming fronts to draw from that moisture and continually/more easily develop rain? I've never taken any classes in meteorology, so feel free to poke fun if this is a dumb question. :-)
  22. I remember walking in a zig zag to make sure I wasn't a target back then.....
