  1. Or it never gets out here. Nothing moving East
  2. Some consensus that this is exactly what happens unfortunately
  3. And here we go again for LI. Rain chances going to the wayside for tomorrow.
  4. Upton HWO. Fool me once…… .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday. Showers and thunderstorms on Sunday will be capable of producing heavy downpours. This may result in flooding of urban, low lying or poor drainage areas, and small streams and creeks. At this time, the best chance for heavy rainfall will be Sunday afternoon and night as a frontal wave along a stalled out boundary potentially moves into the area. There is still a decent amount of uncertainty where the axis of heaviest rainfall will set up. The western half of the area is in a slight risk for Excessive Rainfall with a marginal risk elsewhere.
  5. https://nypost.com/2023/07/04/school-of-sharks-closes-down-long-islands-robert-moses-beach-on-july-4th/ most exciting event of the day for the south shore
  6. Stony Brook and the forks looking like they will cash in soon
  7. For maybe 3% of their coverage area.
  8. Wrong! I was just outside, and I felt a rain drop! Lol Most of us are suffering from battered weather syndrome. We keep getting skunked, but can’t seem to figure out that things aren’t going to get better, so we keep going back. Mother Nature is one fickle btch
  9. Kudos to today’s winners. Threat is over for the island. Hopefully clouds clear out for the fireworks elsewhere Upton pulling the plug. POP now down to 30%
  10. Same just to your East. Everything seems to be firing over the same areas, and moving more S than E. Hard to fathom how we can have a dry frontal passage this time of year, but it’s looking like it might be the case
  11. Nasty yes, but it’s full sun out here. Beach plans got nixed by my weak kneed friends due to the “threat”! I tried my best to sway them, but it’s their boat. Which is the best kind of boat! Lol FWIW Upton yet again lowering the POP
  12. Yeah, but all of the activity is well west and rotating away
  13. For where? Island is basically storm free
  14. Where is the front currently positioned? Upton has it through the area by early evening. Hopefully we can get something from it
  15. To think of all the cxld plans, and lost earnings, from yet another missed opportunity. Full sun again here, right back into the furnace.
  16. Heavy sporadic drops of rain and an itsy bitsty rumble of thunder in brightwaters. Very exciting
  17. Oh the humanity!
  18. Pure isolation. Outside of what’s currently over SI, and Crooklyn, it’s weak sauce. @LongBeachSurfFreak JB has a chance. Out in Suffolk it’s blue skies
  19. Yeah. The axis is lining up straight down the middle of the island. We will hear the thunder, and see crazy flooding videos, all as we cook under clear skies.
  20. Looking like N of LIE is where the real action will be. South Shore not so much.
  21. It’s been a “washout” for two weeks, and we ain’t seen nothing! Lol. FWIW, just came back from training in the bay, and it’s like glass.
  22. Blame the sharks! Son is a lifeguard at RM3, and someone got bit yesterday supposedly. I was at Dunewood yesterday, and the water was pretty chilly, if that’s any consolation. Not expecting much in the way of rain today.
  23. Skunked yet again
