the 20s and sleet obs in Blacksburg are a little worrisome to me.. but I think that will be overcome by rates/ evap cooling.. should be a good lesson in Mid Atlantic Climo either way..

lol... I remember that storm in 2007... I was out late the night before and was partying hard for several days... I had no idea it was supposed to snow.. I woke up that afternoon and there was 10 inches on the ground.. first and only time a snow storm surprised me

I am giving my kids off tomorrow for the storm. It is not fair to them that they should be in their virtual school while it is snowing outside.

with a developing low to our south.. doesnt that mean that the prevailing flow pushes that air in to our area at the low levels?

I still really think we make better than many expect.. it is just a hunch.. no real scientific justification.. I just think temps fall on the low side and everyone is surprised. The disappointing part is that we have had so many decrements over each model run, now a break in the right direction means like 4 inches for me down here in Catonsville. I guess I should be happy if that happens.

I just think we post the maps with the most snow.. if it is the nam 50 incher.. then thats the one we use.. if people dont understand the diference between reality and my need to feed my habit for consuming fantasy snow porn.. than thats on them

Every time I see those snow depth maps it makes me think that I am only getting a couple inches of slush...

@mappy and @H2O can we ban the snow depth maps.. only allow Kuchera in the storm thread. The snow depth maps do nothing for me.

LOL at the GFS vs the Canadian for upstate New York... they hundreds of miles apart... I feel like the GFS is wrong in general

I am sorry.. I am probably the biggest ravens fan on the board and Lamar is the best player they have had since Ray Lewis in his prime.. he is must see TV.. he knows how to win.. I hate it when people try to say he is not good enough to be an NFL quarterback
