91.6/76. Not going to make an upper 90s run, but full-on summer.

Rarely post, but do wonder if high temps might not come to fruition in NE, including Mid Atlantic. Any insight americanwx.com? What are mitigating factors?
It depends on what your baseline is. The GFS is wrong, so don't use that. Otherwise, the forecast isn't really that special (95,97,95 near DCA). The mitigating factor in the DC area is that we've been so wet. That hasn't been the case in New England.

The lightning strikes are winding down which is good news. The best VILs are also sagging south. However the most active area is now NW sinking toward the area. Hopefully we see that area disrupted before it gets close to EC.

That is just an awful radar look for that area. Hope it stops backbuilding soon.

Two PWS stations with 7.7” in or near Catonsville.

We've reached the beautiful time of year where the grass is growing faster than the weeks, and I can fool myself into thinking that this is the year that my lawn won't look like crap by August.

I dont understand the tornado possible they add to the bottom of the warnings or severe weather statements... does this mean that there is weak rotation then? See the bottom of the warning statement
I think it is a bit of a CYA. In theory you could see a weak QLCS-type tornado in the right conditions.

It is one of my most sadistic joys of life - watching people without umbrellas scramble in heavy rain.

If we could only save this rain for later in the summer. 0.68" in the last 25 min, 0.80" on the day.

Did better in the rain department with the overnight cells than the squall line. 2.08” total. 3”+ over the last three days.

Just had our best wind gust, probably mid-30s

Wind was probably better down by Woodbridge. Mostly rain and lightning here. Gutters are clogged and now I have a pool of water near the foundation, which is what you always want.

VILs and kdp looking good along 66

SPC new 1730 DAY 2 likes PA into NY into New England
I'm driving up to NY state for work tomorrow. So, they'll probably get screwed and it'll hit here. You're welcome.

For those of us with several raised beds, your best friend will be drip irrigation or those slow soaker hoses. It really makes watering a lot easier and cuts down on the water bill in the height of summer. We have a timer that waters our tomatoes between 4am and 6am every 3rd day and it cut out water bill n half last summer. The whole outfit cost us $65.
Yeah, I have to get on something like that.

^that's a nice setup. We are eventually going to have 4, 4' x 10' raised beds in our dream house.
Thanks. Yeah, we have two 4x8’, one 4x4’, one 2x8 (raspberry bushes), and two 2x4’. It is pretty convenient.

78/77 at home. One of those slap in the face mornings where I start sweating the moment I step outside.
