There is much more than a seasonal trend going on. For over a year now, southside has been getting all the precip. If things don't change this spring, far N IL and S WI will be in big trouble.

Particularly since the public is already aware of a storm. My MIL already asking about a big snowstorm. I told her not to get her hopes up, especially since she lives further north than I do.

Not meaningless, but not incredibly meaningful either. So much has to be taken into account when it comes to ratios - not just temperature. Wind also plays a role and I imagine will certainly play one this go around.

FWIW, I prefer to use this when it comes to snow accums as it's usually more accurate than Kuchera or 10:1.

I'd be thrilled to get a few inches at this point. The past couple winters have really f*cked the NW burbs. Hell, I'd just love to have some precip in general considering we've been in a severe drought for months.

This isn't to say the GFS is right by any means, but......the UKMET is pretty terrible. Canadian isn't a lot better.
