  1. Basically the same in GSO. We're between Friendly Shopping Center and PTI. 14f
  2. If this is the same storm I'm thinking of, I was a senior at NCSU. They cancelled classes for the first time ever during that storm. I don't remember specifics but it seemed like 5-6" of sleet fell during that storm.
  3. Long time reader, infrequent poster. We're 3-4 miles due east of PTI. If, and I know this is a big "if". we were to get 20"+ of snow/sleet is there a risk of your roof collapsing? We've had 12" in the triad before(Dec 2017?) and a 12-15 year old roof held up fine. But what totals would become a risk for snow collapsing the roof? FWIW - we had our roof replaced this past summer.
  4. We went over to Tanglewood last night. I believe it was 72f when we left Greensboro @ 5:30pm and dropped to 55f when the storms pushed through around 6:30-6:45. Not overly unusual by any means, but was such a warm/mild day yesterday.
  5. Working in downtown GSO. Have not seen a flake this morning. Looks like whatever may happen will be over by 5-6pm.
  6. 33f at the house. We're about halfway between KGSO and Friendly Shopping Center
  7. I was a sophomore at NCSU. We lost heat in the fraternity house for 2-3 days during that event. The K-mart on Western Blvd probably sold dozens of space heaters to my fraternity brothers during that period. Amazing we didn't burn the house down. I remember watching the Super Bowl with a heavy coat on inside the house.
  8. I saw a Weathernation crew in a parking lot on New Garden Rd in Greensboro around 7:30 this morning. They were not broadcasting, just sitting in their truck. I'm guessing 1/8" of ice on branches and outside furniture. Steady rain coming through now.
