  1. I understand. The "NY nonsense"as a reader (not emotionally vested) doesn't bother but can amuse me, personally. I'm not much of a contributor- those that add more value than me are the captains of this forum. Mr. Gorse's post, whether serious or not, prompted my opinion, which I'll stand by- after consuming all the forums posting over time. The value added posters here own the decisions.
  2. Thats a pretty sensible demarcation, actually. Would give critical mass/ synergies to a couple "quiet" subforms, too.
  3. Yes, sir- Seen the debate from time to time. Understand your opinion. If we merge and continue to 'represent"- might work out as a more integrated entertaining/educational forum- such as the New England forum has acheived- despite it being hundreds of miles in breadth- but united across 6 states. We could pull that off, too- given another attempt.
  4. From an independant casual reader and practical perspective-Agree 100%. Not enough widespread interest in this forum to be very meaningful. Can read like a bit of an echo chamber with the daily updates of rote tables about specific small locations, as example. I get the desire for independence- but would be better to be part of a meaningful mix than an empty room. Sometimes "1 + 1 = 3". Opinion respectfully submitted.
  5. A quick 2 inches down and snowing hard over on north side of Whiteface… great rates! .
  6. Agree it has been dry (other than snow/sleet QPF) even here in SJ.
  7. Despite dire predictions by some- no ice jams locally again this year. Gradual warmup, no flooding rains and sunshine already have already had their effect. Local rivers in good shape. Ice in mid Delaware River is about gone, for example. .
  8. Tucked in? Your thoughts on I-295 corridor conditions in SJ now that the majors have congealed? (at least for the moment) Winds/a foot plus? Obliged for youyr opinion.
  9. Thats OK sir. I'm not a mod- but in the interest of the majority of posters and readers- asked for a Chester County "bicker" thread to be created a while back. To me- its unreadable except for 2 or 3 posters...(and as the saying goes: sooner or later in wrestling with a pig- you realize the pig likes it.)
  10. Reminder- Isn't there a seperate thread for this? Thanks again...
  11. Good sane approach... I hope you are right- Thanks
  12. Quiet pattern, quiet forum (compared to others). Not as many enthusiasts post/analyze here in general it seems.
  13. Mike- I hope there is a feedback mechanism (one that is responded to as "opportunities for improvement") that can take the feedback from the users and drive rapid improvement/track progress... not sure how progressive your organization is, in todays day and age. Proces Improvement should be a mantra- but the world gets in the way sometime. Hang tough.
  14. Classic. Send him down our way for a blessing.
  15. (The above is a State College based write up. No arguing here- but kaeeping it real- you earlier wrote with contextual certainty for your area (not Stage College) yesterday: "with greater than 25:1 as a max with this storm.." so yes, I chuckled. Sorry if it seems to have triggered you. I'd get over it and move on. Back to reading.)
  16. Mike- Thanks for the insight and taking time out. Us "largely lurkers" learn a little something with any exchange like the above. Obliged.
  17. Concur- Had people ice skating down our streets...laid awake listening to branches breaking and thumping down. No repeats needed. Driving was impossible.
  18. Sierras too wet...high ratios uncommon ("Sierra cement"). I've been to Blue Mountain (skiing) Hawk Mountain (Walking/watching) and Blue Mountain Winery (quaffing) so I may have your location triangulated. Very pretty up there.
  19. I'm 68. Only in the Rockies (and occasionally Northern Adirondacks) have I skied snow that fell in ratios you stated, no offense). I wish, but not happening that we see those here, with this storm.
  20. Still getting a chuckle out of this... maybe if we were at 10K feet in Little Cottonwood Canyon in Utah during an upslope storm...
  21. Usually- but not Always. Our #1 storm- Jan. 1996 had no taint at PHL. (or in nearby western NJ).
  22. Please take to the “Chester County bickering “ thread. Again. Please. .
  23. Brine lowers the freezing point of water… so roads “just stay wet” longer and lower temperatures… so your observation is correct, too. .
