  1. Yeah 78 was much longer lasting, especially the aftermath! No school for 5 days after. One thing I'll say every time I mention that storm... the totals were WAY off in some areas. I had measurements from our house in Granby, my grandfather from the utility company in Simsbury and others. We had 28 inches in Granby and was told 25 in Simsbury. Official totals are far less... and I don't believe them
  2. Aside from the blizzard of 78, it was the most amazing storm I've experienced. 34 Inches in Simsbury. I still had my residential snow plow route at the time. Took me all weekend, and hours after work Monday to clean everyone up
  3. February 13 was FANTASTIC. Only thing that would have made it better was another 8 hours of it
  4. I stay away from the sewer, can't stand that kind of social media. One of the local AM talk guys was saying he's so disappointed in X and being able to use as show prep news source... great way to ruin a show if that's your source
  5. Only thing it's worth is tossing TO it...
  6. Everyone should... but so many forget lol. That verbatim would make many happy however, lets see how many more dozen times it morphs around now
  7. Agreed. Said that earlier that the GFS looked weird, probably due to the fact that they just don't know quite what the Eff to do with it yet Get Torchs cutter outta here first then we'll see
  8. 6Z GFS just looks... odd to me for the 16th. No doubt the evolution will change at 12Z lol
  9. Just biding time through Torchs next power bottom cutter this weekend, then we hopefully have some more interesting tracking to do
  10. Likewise. Although that's why a season like 95-96 was so great. Lots of pack for a very extended period throughout the winter, and many many events
  11. Looks just like the China Freight one that collapsed in my back yard last year... I've upgraded
  12. LOL that has Paste for me and pouring rain at BDL written all over it. Seen that several times the last several decades
  13. I have to do that myself this afternoon. I never cleared Sundays second round because the damn snowblower broke, and rains last night did little to remove it. We still have a lot left in Westfield
  14. Rain has mostly moved to the east, and we still have a ton of snow otg here. Didn't get as much rain as expected, and highest temp overnight of 42. It's down to 41 now. Winds were super meh
  15. I drove back from a trip to Florida during that one... on my birthday. What a present seeing as it was a great storm in the middle of a snow less time period. Hit first snow just north of DC and was in it all the way to CT
  16. Just got back to Westfield. It had been freezing drizzle but rates have picked up and it's changed back to snow for now. 28.5°
  17. Kind of fits the theme to go along with his power bottom cutter thread
  18. Agreed! If they're showing me this look on Friday I'll start to get interested, but it does seem like we're lining things up a little better after this weekend
  19. Give it time. This is the time frame the GFS starts spitting out a different roll of the dice every run. It has certain features in this time frame, but no bomb yet
  20. In another couple weeks you'd have to add the damn sun angle talk to that mix...
  21. I think you kind of see your point if you look at the CMC or ICON regarding the 13th/14th. NOT that I'm telling anyone I take them seriously... but they are called guidance for a reason
  22. Really picking up in intensity here now. Much better snow growth
  23. 9 inches here with the first round. We've had another inch over so the last hour and a half while snow blowing. Radar looks to be filling in more to the west again. This is nice, we don't see it out this way all to often
