    Love that area. We used to stay at Inn by the River, but got sick of the LONG drive. Also, I prefer the VT trail system better. Maine gets boring, all the trails look the same

    I guess I just can't even imagine needing a guide on such a simple trail system in an area like ME, NH or VT. Maps are great and it's impossible to get lost really. We'll never ride NH ever again because of bad experiences in the past. Really irritating to be stopped and checked every other town by law enforcement. Maybe it's changed, but not worth it for us to find out

    In New Hampshire or VT?? Only place we ever had a sort of guide was our week trips to Canada

    This past January was just your average everyday minor snowfall out this way. You guys really cashed in, I think I had about 5 inches here iirc. And that's true I think the largest storm I had here in 96 was about 13 or 14 in. We just had many many free to 10 inch deals that just kept coming and coming. Honestly I prefer that to a winter with just a couple of blockbusters

    True. It's very rare to get a 1995/96 style winter around here, or really anything close. That was my favorite winter so far in SNE since I've been following in the late 70s. Others have been close, but 95/96 we had snow OTG much of the time from November through late march. Never usually happens contrary to what many chirp on this forum

    He does prefer the warmer weather, but has slowly morphed into following this time of year. Chasing tornadoes is how he ended up in the middle of the damn Springfield tornado, stuck on RT91 of all places right when it came over the Memorial bridge

    I'm lucky my Hubby is as into the weather as I am... We'd both weenie out to that!

    Where are you located? Plenty of frost in this area! I have an open electrical trench on a job site because everything is frozen solid. Maybe I should let some of you know where it is... save you money on toasters

    Same here. It hasn't been a lot, but there's been enough white ground to satisfy in this area

    Hate to tell you this, but that will happen January 10th if you have all sun... even if it's 10 degrees. Just doesn't happen quite as fast

    Why do some of you guys think we get prolific snow in December in SNE on average??? Why? It is NOT normal, especially where you are located. Some of THE best winters we've had over the past 40 plus years had very little if any until new years +- a few days. If the winter sucks for your area it generally has nothing to do with December. I try not to weenie people, but my God sometimes its deserved!

    It failed for some, sure. But it doesn't mean those other months HAVE to make up for them. It's not the way winter is usually work here. Plus it's been my experience getting snow too early in the season is a bad Omen for the rest of the year with the exception of years like say 95/96, and iirc 92/93

    And I've said it over and over... more often than not for most of SNE we don't usually get much in December. If we do it's usually the last week or so. If we didn't have this c*ck blocked decent pattern this year it would likely be a different story

    2 inches total in Westfield. We've had light rain much of the overnight, so nothing has added. Didn't expect that

    Looks like we're going to end up with 2 inches. What's showing on radar doesn't seem to be translating to the ground. Precip shield looks like it will rotate out of this area soon

    Moderate to heavy snow in Westfield the last half hour. Ground is whitening quickly. I'm surprised it's actually accumulating on the driveway just as fast
