  1. Not really surprising, we had 9 in Westfield, and buddy had 8.5 in Southwick
  2. Nice to see these trends, and hoping it holds. And, who on this end in the last couple days recommended not looking out to hour 384 so often and look for something to pop in the shorter term... maybe the gut will be right
  3. '78 for sure. I have pictures somewhere that my grandfather took that winter. I was only 8, but remember it very well. The pack that winter was fantastic, similar to '95-'96. There was a period of time when they couldn't get the side roads cleared because of the snow and low temps. It was just white roads covered with potholes and sporadic sand
  4. OK... I can't take it anymore. I've been here, and lurked for YEARS, but I still have NO effing idea what that's supposed to mean!
  5. Looks great to me. I'm right above the 9.1 at the CT/MA notch. Personally I'm at 8.75 in Westfield
  6. See, that's how I see it and why I don't melt and get all butt hurt disappointed like some. In my eyes we did have something all last week leading to the weekend. Sure, it was pretty much a dud for some however I enjoy the chase if you will. Sure I'd love to see some more action (giggity) but I don't need huge fantasy storms showing 384 out to keep me interested. Also, my gut says we'll at least have a period of excitement this winter
  7. Flooded basements are the worst, but a good excuse to throw out some of the significant others CRAP... We had a sewage lateral backup in ours in August. I got to trow away tons of garbage
  8. Yeah, we have two Crepe Myrtle trees that will need to be protected if we go below zero. Don't need that... energy bills are already killer this year
  9. I do have to keep telling myself that it really hasn't been overly cold, we're just not used to fairly sustained near normal temps. Now, how about near normal snow...
  10. I almost, in an odd way like to see it that way right now. I've been all over the Euro the last few years, but it sure seems far more stable recently. I hate roller coasters, and that's what the GFS has become
  11. If this keeps up without much snow cover, we may start seeing some broken mains into peoples houses. Been a LONG time since that's happened in my area
  12. WHEN are some going to stop calling it that...???
  13. Probably doing the smart thing and pursuing another hobby... like snowmobiling!
  14. Well modern times yeah. My father was just telling me about a winter in the early 70s where it was brutal cold and absolutely no snow much of the winter. He was running around with water companies disconnecting electrical services so they could hook up a welder to the water main to thaw them. Said they did this for a couple weeks. New Hartford and surrounding areas were hit pretty bad. Although it REALLY hasn't been all that unusually cold. We're just used to springtime winter the last few
  15. Holds!? It's the modern GFS... it'll have fifty different solutions between now and then
