  1. I think the glaze of ice idea has been GREATLY overstated, but I understand what you're saying
  2. I've seen exactly what you're talking about! My Great Grandmother lived on Roslyn Street in Hartford RIGHT on the line, Trout Brook was always nice... then turn the corner and it was another world
  3. Some maybe a little, but in my eyes there's WAY more focus on the roads during storms now than say what I remember as a kid in the 70s through into the 80s. It changed drastically in the early 90s when we actually started getting regular snow events again. When I was a kid it was normal to not see blacktop for a couple days on secondary roads after a storm if temps were right. IMO there's an over obsession with clearing roads during storms now
  4. My gut is I'd rather be in Mass for this weekend... at least western/ central
  5. Looking at data this morning, I think that's fair, although I think slightly underdone just west of CT and Berkshires. This is moving so quickly, any accumulating snow at decent rates only lasts a few hours
  6. Very cool just having an active pattern with cold in place or nearby. I'll take the nickles and dimes and hopefully we can cash in with a larger event. Saturday night is looking decent right now as well
  7. You joke but compared to other places up north it always looks that way! One of my favorite areas to snowmobile to
  8. Maybe. Around here they're so scared of litigation that they'll cancel if they smell a flake falling back in Poughkeepsie NY
  9. Man have some of us gotten spoiled! JK, well sort of. I'm happy I get as much enjoyment from just covering the ground as I do with a 12 plus event. Give me an event like Thursday looks to be and multiply it several times and I'm ecstatic. That's what made 1995/96 winter so special was multiple events like this, not the big ones.
  10. Well... it's looking like the GFS is on board. Still looking like a start time around sunrise for the Hartford area?
  11. We've been here before... Let's get other guidance on board
  12. Never got over 37 in Simsbury and likewise at home.Nor much sun til late afternoon so that helped a lot
  13. Couldn't/shouldn't care less about the NAM at this range!
  14. You're in NH. I thought that was only a VT thing. Used to see tons of it along the snowmobile trails...
  15. No... big buns for trying to multitask and falling for a joke post from one of what I consider to be one of the most trustworthy posters
  16. Hey, I'm happy enough there's some possible action showing in the pipeline, doesn't need to be 1888
  17. HA that would explain why I can't find it anywhere. Looked like Euro graphics...
  18. I've had a gut feeling this season that we wouldn't go wall to wall with no action this season. Lets get some of these in the pipeline to verify!
  19. I thought the same thing haha. Cape Cod is listening!
  20. Isn't that a fine thing... Is that the Euro? Only looked at the GFS so far this A.M.
  21. Didn't even notice, I'll check it out
  22. I guess, I would just give it another day or so. Plenty of room in the February thread. Maybe start one for Thursday first?
