Plus just the nature of the storm I really think some just stopped reporting. My Grandfather was district manager of H.E.L.Co. ( now spinning like an EF5 in his grave due to Neversource ) in Simsbury at the time. They used to keep track of depths for the crews etc and said at the office they had 26 inches as best they could tell but he felt it was more just impossible to tell with the winds. And man! Imagine those winds with the 2013 storm! THAT would have been insane!
Likewise! I grew up in Granby CT. We were at the bus stop when my mom and a couple other parents came walking to the bus stop. We were like WTF they never come see us. When they said they got a call and school was cancelled you could probably hear our excitement a mile away! And no school the rest of the week
Just about 2 inches here now at the shop. Some very large flakes starting to mix in so I think the sleet is not far behind funny the temp has actually fallen from 18 to 16 in the last hour
I mean I agree with the crowd here that think we've become too soft... and for sure have! However you're absolutely right. Te cold ground and low temps made the roads instantly slick. I can even feel it in the Power wagon this A.M. Roads are NOT good here right now
Hoping that happens. Get a decent amount of sleet in this stuff and it won't instantly vaporize like the stuff Sunday evening. Good prep for the weekend
It's actually an absolutely amazing country. I never want to leave the States, but it's one of the very few other countries I could see myself living in... even with no snow. The food, people scenery etc. Did I say food?! Sawasdee Krab!
12° here in Westfield, Like was said earlier this will Virgil for a while, and then probably come in like a wall. Be nice to see some daytime snow. 8:30 service call and then a joyride around in the snow afterwards
