Its a shit the blinds start to the mid atlantic ski season. I love snow and I love skiing. Even when we don't get real snow, I can get my fix on the slopes. So far this season, you need to go above 4000ft to ski anything decent. Hopefully we can clean off the blinds later in the season, but the resorts have already missed out on the first two major holiday weekends.

Huh? Maybe Snowshoe but I don't track WVA weather :). Western MD has had snow but it melted a day or two later. The last chance we had forecast was 4-8 and ended up with 2. I skied Wisp opening day Dec 15 but they've only managed two small trail additions since then. The next 5 days is 40s and rain. We plan on heading up Friday, hoping for something white but not expecting much at this point. Timberline has much better skiing conditions but only due to their brand new snowmaking system. They received a bit more natural but again it melts a couple days later.

I feel like things have been pretty well sniffed out about a week in advance. The last two big rainers were well known the week prior. After the storm on the 27th I feel like there is not much value wringing hands. If we get to Christmas and the next 7 days still look like poo, time to hit the egg nog hard.

WSW busted at my place in Garrett County. Looks to be 2-3". I guess better than nothing, except it postponed my chimney install!

It was enough to make a snowman and sled! Took advantage of the BS school delay and had some fun. Looking at my cameras, looked like we got about the same here in Ellicott City that we got out at Deep creek.

lol just heard a big rumble of thunder in Ellicott City. One boom lasted 15 seconds.

Ravens game gonna be wet!

1-2" in Garrett County, its a wet packable snow. Stuck to everything and made the trees very scenic.

Ravens had the best bye weekend ever. PIT, CLE, KC, JAX all lose. Five tough games coming up. I'd be happy with 3-2.

Coming home from Garrett County last week I noticed a lot of hazy in the valleys, same thing last night coming home. With the winds from the south, really bringing the smoke up our way. 2023, the year that just keeps on giving.

Amyone know why it is so hazy in western md? Driving between Cumberland and Hagerstown the valleys were thick, kinda smelly too.

Off and on snow showers all day today out at Deep Creek. Picked up around 2" on elevated surfaces. Very mushy snow, typically we get the fluffy stuff out here.

I'm heading up tomorrow morning! I love snow but hoping we hold off on big stuff for a couple weeks, roof is almost on my addition . Once I'm dried in bring on the powder!

Trying to get under roof before the blizzards hit this winter! . This week was great weather, next week, nasomuch.

lol I'm pouring a garage slab out in deep creek on Thursday, got my heater ready and hoping it warms up during the day.

ugh looking at the extended, seems to be agreement on another wet weekend coming up. Kids sports are gonna be going into December at this rate.

Like you said, all about the money. Some leagues almost half the teams make the playoffs, and the playoffs seem to last for months. Whats the point of the regular season? More games, more money, more gambling, YAY!

Havent seen them in Ellicott City yet but coached a softball game in western hoco and they were all over the place. No stinkbugs or lantern flies in Deep Creek either.

Not to mention Os playoff game and Billy Joel concert in Baltimore. If theres a weekend we don't need precipitation, this is it.
