    Liking the way radar is lighting up and the HRRRRRRRR depiction after the first round comes through. Missed out on yesterday's storms by less than 10 miles. Would love some nice boomers today.

    I had a manual for 13 years and was in the same boat. I enjoyed driving it, but driving it in traffic sucks. I honestly haven't missed that car one bit. Automatic just makes driving simpler, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with getting behind the wheel of a car that's easier to drive.

    Definitely the “flaggiest” tree I’ve seen (alI believe it’s a white oak). This tree is pretty much just up the road from us and has looked like this for at least a month, but I decided to finally take a picture. Pretty impressive.

    As long as it’s not pouring on Saturday morning, I’m good. We have a home A meet that I’d love for us to get in. Looking more like the heavy stuff could be through by go time.

    Haven't seen any live Brood Xers in 4-5 days, but did hear some singing in random stands of trees this past weekend. The last two mornings, I've heard the familiar chatter of the annual cicadas...

    You’d think with how hot and dry we are that my garden would have needed watering today. I checked the soil, but, amazingly, it’s got plenty of moisture in it.

    That’s cool! Our team lost today, but it was a really fun meet! Doesn’t help that we don’t have many 13-14 girls, so we lose a lot of points in those races. Super proud that the older one came in 2nd in the 25m breaststroke in her first A meet swimming it. In fact, I’m proud that she even swam it at all!

    My neighborhood actually had a number of chimney collapses. Ours suffered pretty decent damage that we finally fixed about 18 months ago.

    I was growing a pot of cilantro under a light for a couple months, then after a few weeks outside it bolted. I love cilantro, but the bolting thing gets under my skin, so I’d definitely be interested in a slow-bolt variety.

    I played baseball all my life, including in college. The problem was that from the time I was about 16, I only played because I liked the competition - I didn't really like the game any more. Continuing to play - and all of the things that come with playing at a high level - really soured me on the game, to the point where I have a very negative, almost visceral reaction to it. I don't mean to be a negative nancy about it. I should have just left that comment out of the discussion, even if I feel that way

    It’s been crazy nice. We’re close to the Fourth of July and talking multiple lows around 50 area wide over two weeks. No need to gnash teeth and beat breasts.
