  1. Starting to crush here in western maine .
  2. I have no doubt about this but as you mentioned skier traffic plays a huge role. I ski the River and love it early and late season and then avoid it almost entirely during Jan. and Feb. when the skier traffic pick ups. Even on weekdays there’s usually better skiing to be had elsewhere. I also think the hills with less trail acreage can generally put out a better product if they have a skilled crew because they simply have fewer miles to cover.
  3. Agreed that things can change but unless this shifts significantly west I’m selling that warm nose for my area up to you and buying the strength of the antecedent cold. There’s some very cold air in place when this starts that will not give up without a fight.
  4. Just saw that Great Glen isn’t even open for skiing yet. Another really tough year in the Whites so far following last years snow drought. Climo says there has to be a snap back at some point, whether that’s later this season or next.
  5. Carson has been posting hate mail to his Instagram account that he's received from viewers complaining that he's too much of a weenie. He's leaning into it, love to see it
  6. radar is filling in to my west. Maybe I pick up more snow from this than Friday hah
  7. Shawnee was the same today. Couldn’t figure out why. My girlfriend mentioned that lots of mass schools are back on distance learning.
  8. Been a tough stretch for them no doubt. This weekend has that look of one that teases us for another 24 hours that trends the wrong way at go time.
  9. Their mountain ops crew is one of the best in the business. Another 4-6” and the clubs will open the trails here too. Off to a better start than last winter if you can believe it.
  10. Skied it this morning. Has been a sneaky good week here, with last nights event we managed to pick up 4” since Xmas.
  11. If we're paupers what does that make the SNE folks?
  12. Picked up a surprise inch overnight. This has been a nice wintry week here, although not a lot to show for it.
  13. Both the GFS and euro trended in the right direction for this weekend at 12z. GFS solution then sends the follow up wave into the GOM thanks to a strengthening blocking high and gives coastal and downeast Maine a snowstorm on Monday. That might be one to watch for Maine folks.
  14. GFS has led the way with these last few events and then the other models came on board 48-72 hours out. Would like to start seeing some positive trends on the Euro by 0z thursday if there's any hope.
  15. Less than an inch but very festive nonetheless. .
  16. Just sleet here after an initial burst of snow
  17. I suspect so, there's some model agreement. Even 2" will be a nice refresher. GFS and euro both hint at doing it again wed-thurs. 4-7 over the next week would be a great win in this pattern.
