  1. I hope we get a forumwide 6-12" mon, but I agree with redsky on the gfs being most consistent. It's done well with pretty much all of the swfe. I forgot how it looked for Nov though, I was working near Oneida, Ny so I was more focused on the LE Took off the 9th through 12th. Might extend that a day and fly to Colorado for a solo trip and try to meetup with friends. Or go north again. Either way, I feel good that the 10 day looks nice for both locations. Tahoe and Oregon are getting slammed, never been, but its too last minute for that. That's how I roll
  2. Improvement to the south by 20-30 miles over 12z. That's the cmc right?
  3. CMC 12z likes another CNJ snowhole. Will probably verify.
  4. Does a flatter flow mean less ability to pull moisture out of the gulf and less time for the low to deepen along the coast?
  5. No worries man! Regarding redskys snowhole, I was going to say the past two ski trips I went on have added up to 58 inches in 6 days on the mountain. That's like 20-30x more snow than redsky has recieved this year. (39 inches in 4 days at smugglers notch 1/8-11 and 15/19 inches at Mount snow/magic, respectively, on 1/20-21. I've been really lucky with my powder chasing this year. Like seriously lucky, smuggs recieved 12 inches more than Stowe during that storm, and they're only a few miles apart on the same mountain. I guess the wind direction favored smuggs with the upslope snow, pretty crazy how much variability there is in QPF along the green mtn spine. Also any chance that shortwave dips a bit further south and phases sooner? Thatd be good for a few inches if so. But it seems like it's too late for that since its 48 hours out. I dont know what itd take or what to look for, for that to occur. Does anyone have any books they reccomend to help learn more? So I dont have to bother you guys and can actually contribute something meaningful, besides observations. You guys have been more than helpful, I really appreciate it.
  6. Thanks for understanding Kamu, I was beat, and still am with 2 hrs sleep.. Northern facing slopes are still completely snow covered west of Harrisburg btw. Looks like the next week or two have decent potential for some snow. If we get lucky maybe Ralph's unicorn might rear its horn. Seems like theres potential for back to back systems to setup between North Carolina and PA. I want to take a third trip to Vermont or ADKs the weekend of March 9th and 10th, so I'm hoping it's a snowy beginning to the month.
  7. Didnt see any flying wildlife, including unicorns, today. Just some branches, a knocked over porta-potty (thank goodness there was another one, we worked from 5am-10:30pm today.....), a tarp in the road and some blown around streetlights. Oh and my hardhat got blown about 30 ft downwind, other than that it was a bit of an underwhelming event even though its been a while since we've had strong sustained winds. Edit: Crap, I thought this was the rain and wind thread.
  8. Streetlights blowing all over the place, a few facing the wrong direction up by Hamburg.
  9. There was a 3 alarm fire near my shop last night but I think they got it out before the winds picked up. Right by 29/turnpike onramp in Treddyferin township, it was a construction site for a large retirement home. Currently stuck on side of road north of Reading, my coworker grabbed a truck with a messed up transmission. Tow just got here but we need an uber or something else to get us all to the jobsite. Never a dull moment, doesn't seem too windy here right now but a lot of low clouds zipping past.
  10. Theres been a few good gusts, probably a bit over 40mph, but nothing too substantial. My recycle bin was knocked over but luckily I had a closed up box of stuff sitting on top that held most of it in place. Haven't seen any trees down on the roads, just a lot of small debris and someone's tarp laying in the road.
  11. What a fun little mountain, their trees are great. I really like the tight pines to skiers right of liftline. Props to everyone that helps clear lines in the offseason.
  12. Weren't we forecast for 1.0-1.5inch in most of the region, a bit more to our south in DE? I probably will end with the same as JP. I did wake up to pouring rain in the middle of the night, it made it feel like summer, and then I realized it was still February..
  13. Of course it rains for the Flyer's stadium series game in February, must be miserable sitting for two and a half hours in 40 degree rain. I guess we'll have to see how iceman says it went. Would have been sweet if it were snow. Edit: actually I'm jealous, that was an awesome game.
  14. Are there any radar archives for northern Vermont?
  15. Lots of branches down across roads and powerlines. Bottom of my street, I've seen these tall pines uprooted during heavy rainstorms. Luckily just a couple branches down from this storm. Still slick on untreated roads/sidewalks as of 5am. Lots of fog too, visibility on 276 isnt great but no accidents between 29 and Jersey, yet.
  16. Freezing drizzle 30 degrees. Walked down to my neighbors and the roads are still icy even where it just looks wet. Here's a picture of the ice on the trees. It didnt turn out too great, but we have at least .1 accretion, probably more. There's some low hanging branches on some side roads. Also ignore the long johns, I still haven't had a chance to change from snowboarding.
  17. Not sure how much I ended up with, probably a little over 3". Probably very close to whatever JP got. Just got back from Bear Creek, it was nice for a few hours with the fresh snow on top of stuff they were able to blow the past few nights. Was good for practicing front flips!! The drive back wasnt too bad, roads are wet with a lot of slush in the middle. Hills may be an issue with rear or fwd.
  18. Still looking at 3-6 per the NWS. I'm thinking four, or maybe a match to my 3.75" from the last storm. I'm likely gonna head to bear creek in Macungie PA, their forecast is very similar to mine. Snow starts at 9am and switches to sleet by 6pm. Enough time to get up there, ride for a bit, and hopefully beat the sleet! Hoping 100 and 724 are in decent shape, they're both sketchy roads. Maybe I'll take the turnpike back to be safe, even if it takes longer. I'll report my totals when I get home, hopefully before the sleet.
  19. A 6+ inch all snow event, across the board, would be very nice.
  20. Let's see if I can get an inch of sleet again. DP 15F
