  1. 65 dew point always feels like the jungle. I don't know why people downplay it, calling it a touch, tad, bit, itty bitty, humid. I like authentically dry air, low 50s for the DP and below. Preferably the 30s for DP. Chapped hands and lips.
  2. One of my favorite maps, I love how the blue/orange gradient is properly set as 60 DP, which is a great threshold. Looks like September will keep our record DP run going.
  3. Authentically dry air this evening…50 DP. One of the finest days I’ve seen in some time.
  4. Yeah, I think it’s a bit muggy myself. Air feels damp.
  5. This summer was definitely amongst the muggiest I can remember
  6. Why are there so many dew deniers on here? It was clearly a muggy summer, and there has been a distinct lack of crisp days. Where are my sub-60 DPs? We don’t need records shattered to call this like it is.
  7. Don't hold us to southern standards...it's oppressive on Thursday and Friday. Nothing borderline about it.
  8. I'm surprised today didn't get at least a heat advisory. The heat index is 99, I guess the NWS have triple-digit fixation.
  9. They are bundling up in their sweaters this evening and throwing another log on the fire
  10. Everyone on this board, and on tv, and in the NWS, wants to hold New Englanders to Louisiana standards for Dew Point. I've been doing a lot of runs in this 65 deg / 63 dp weather, and let me tell you, it is a total soaking. Absolutely nuked with sweat and dew. RELATIVE humidity is still a thing. We don't have to wait until dews reach 70 to call it muggy. I hate when the TV mets call 62 dp, a touch muggy, a bit humid, etc. It's DANK and JUICED.
  11. Why do you want to be so militant against people talking about Covid? It's a relevant issue. Cases are at an all-time high. It's a banter thread for a reason.
  12. BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED * HUMID AIR ADVISORY LISTED FOR WORCESTER COUNTY * HAZARD: Dewpoints exceeding 60 degrees SOURCE : AT 7:41 PM EDT, A MASS OF HUMID AIR WAS DETECTED IN NORTHEASTERN CT MOVING NE RAPIDLY AT 60 MPH. Dewpoints are expected to reach into the low 60s for an extended period of time. IMPACT...Damaging dewpoints will cause some people to sweat profusely. This could mildly bother others who are outdoors. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Reinstall A/C units Close the darn windows. Take shelter in the lowest floor Check on the elderly and pets
  13. I hate passive language with humidity. They always need to qualify 60 DP with “bit” “a touch” “slight” “smidge”. HOW BOUT YOU JUST CALL IT MUGGY!
  14. The general population has no respect for dew points. I see Denver people bragging about the amount of 90 degree days but the DPs are in the 30s. The high dew days are more impressive, but not to the general public.
  15. The reports of my dewlessness is greatly exaggerated. -Mark Twain
  16. Weather app keeps thinking it’s sunny when it’s been cloudy for about the last 5 hours!
  17. I have done 90 July runs in the Worcester area since 2015, and the average DP has been 61.75, about what it is today. That's not bad, but it's not crisp COC air, which is what DIT is saying. The DP's ought to be in the mid-50s to be a COC candidate. Also, we don't need to hold ourselves to Louisiana or Miami standards with a DP chart. When the DP is at or around 60, it is definitely on the muggy side. I know this from running. When the weather is 70/60 it feels muggier because of the relative humidity factor. I can't clear sweat on my body. About 20% of the runs had a DP 55 or lower, which is the gold standard. The difference between 55 and 60 is significant, and therein lies the COC weather.
  18. Extremely poor decision to remove the coronavirus thread. It would be like the mods removing a holocaust thread in the 1940's because it was too "political."
  19. Covid-19 hasn't run it's course though. Are we allowed to still talk about the pandemic in the banter thread, or will that be censored?
  20. Wait, hold up. We are surging in cases all over the US and the mods thought it would be a good idea to CENSOR and REMOVE information on a freakin' pandemic? Because there is a touch of politics in it? People want/need that information, and it is crazy to outright remove the thread. It ain't right.
  21. I get unreasonably irritated when weather stations/apps claim it's full sun, when it is actually bright overcast. Today is one such day.
