  1. Exactly what I was worried about. We are gonna need a stronger vort.
  2. Exactly. I will take my chances with a 992 over ORF anytime. We all know the long range models struggle with the precip shield. It happens every single storm.
  3. GFS is a beatdown. 992 right over ORF. Beautiful.
  4. It is a big hit for many of us as is. Lets not forget the Euro's temps at 12Z. I am not going to stress over the GFS temps at 8 days out. We all know the cold air will be entrenched better than what the model is showing. I was more worried about seeing a southern slider this run. Just keep the low position as shown for the next 8 days and I think most of us will end up very happy. Maybe not the eastern shore folks. But just about everyone else.
  5. the Euro is showing a little bit of what I was worried about yesterday. I still think this one has a legit chance to get squashed. But obviously we are WAY too far out to know anything. The one thing that is nice is that temps wont be an issue. The cold air will be entrenched and is never modeled well. Also the precip shield should be larger than modeled as it always is. I think we are in a pretty good spot right now.
  6. Snow is an IMBY game my friend. 18Z GFS has another storm down in the gulf at the end of the run. It would be squashed as is I think. But we are going to have an active tracking period for the next couple of weeks.
  7. Something tells me being "stuck" in a hotel room for 2 days may have had an effect on your enthusiasm to marry her. Just saying
  8. Might be one of the earliest ignore list adds in my history on this site and Eastern.
  9. Agreed. But if it doesnt get out of the way in time we could be screaming about Richmond. Still a long ways to go. Just glad we have a something that is going to track under us to watch.
  10. Yeah. Perfect track for all of us. Personally I would take the FV3 track with the Euro temps leading up to the event. But I am greedy
  11. I am actually pretty happy about the look for early Dec on the Euro. Back to back vorts tracking under us. Still a long ways off obviously. But at least we have something to watch.
  12. I am actually fine with that. Keep the wet pattern going. Climo temps will be coming in Jan/Feb. Just keep the storm train rolling through then. Even cutters into a cold enough CAD can be decent for our area.
  13. I am upping my guess. I feel like we are going to see good blocking throughout the entire winter now. We may have a crappy back half of DEC-beginning of Jan. But we will already have a good storm or 2 by then. And then late Jan/Feb is gonna be epic I think.
  14. Both GFS's still like the early Dec timeframe for a storm. And they are surprisingly similar in their evolution for so far out. Edit: Post edited to remove political content. I dont want to take a beatdown from Mappy
  15. Got a few flurries going on out here. Windy and chilly. Feels like a crisp winter day.
  16. Man. The FV3 is so close to a bomb for the Nov 29/30th threat. 50/50 in place. Southern shortwave in a good position. It is just a little bit late. Then it is followed up by another bomb right behind it. We are gong to have some fun tracking over the next couple of weeks. OH HELLO THERE:
  17. I think those of us to the west have a chance for a snow shower or two with the frontal passage on Tuesday. That is how we normally see flakes this time of year out here. That early Dec chance is looking legit for sure. The GFS and FV3 both have the storm but one is a cutter and the other is squashed.
  18. Still all snow covered out here as well. I am wondering if my shoveled piles will last until Thanksgiving.
  19. Couldnt happen to a friendlier bunch of people......Just saying.
  20. I think you just saved me thousands of dollars! https://www.amazon.com/Campfire-Candle-Scented-Natural-Fireplace/dp/B01G1BFJ2K/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1542336314&sr=8-3&keywords=wood+burning+smell+candle
  21. Anybody else disgusted with the invention of gas fireplaces. I have been sitting in front of this one for 14 years and today I realized it is a fake fire. Maybe the Macallan 12 is screwing with my brain. But I really miss the real wood fire smell. Anyways.....
  22. Pretty nice to have the EPS and GEFS looking very similar to each other in the mid range. I dont know if those temps are gonna do it in early to mid December. But we will definitely have some tracking to do over the next month. Sure beats the past couple of winters where we really had nothing to even talk about for weeks on end.
  23. Man. It is something else out here. Got a nice crust on top of 6 inches of snow. Just took the dog on a long Jebwalk and it feels like mid January. This is really something special to be experiencing before Thanksgiving. I think we might have an epic winter incoming.
  24. Down to a light drizzle now. Finished up with just a little over 6 inches out here. Maybe a quick burst in the morning with the ULL? But regardless a great storm for any month of the year.
  25. Yeah. I was expecting a very wet snow and it isnt. It is powder and mostly dendrites. Gorgeous.
