  1. A Christmas Torch. A time honored Maritime and New England tradition. Lol we just can't shake this.
  2. Hopefully if it cuts, it drags a CF through quickly and maybe get a little wave action on the front is it sits off shore. If not, things might get ugly.
  3. This will be a big coup for the GFS. Not very often a model stands alone and beats out the other big ones. Interesting.
  4. I haven't recorded more than a trace thus far. Latest storm did a matrix style loop de loop around me. Snowed everywhere except my hood. Good times.
  5. Grinch storm on the GFS. Mild and rainy. Still time though
  6. Wow nice line up of chances on the 6z GFS. Literally a s/w every few days. Fingers crossed for snow for the holidays.
  7. Punting December? Getting dangerously close to a torchy holiday look in the long range. Hopefully just a delayed winter.
  8. It’s way out there is La la land but this is what you want to see. None of that primary heading for James Bay while praying for a redeveloper to squirt underneath crap.
  9. GFSGW. Is that some kind of hybrid Fiona redux? Sign me up…lol.
  10. It would go a long ways if the models showed a threat or two. Any of the globals for that matter. It's like the ensembles are singing "do you see what i see?" and the OP's are like "nope"...lol
  11. You don't want to rely on a -NAO to save the winter but it is what it is. We'll ride it and see what happens. Hopefully we can get a bit of snow down for the holidays for festive appeal.
  12. 12z gfs with a bit more of a press. Close to being serviceable for some on the late weekend system.
  13. Warmest Halloween here since 1956. Was actually very pleasant. High of 65F.
  14. 18hrs without power and counting. Internet and cell phone are dodgy. Minor damage here. Fence blew down and limbs fallen. Multiple gusts in the upper 50’s and low 60’s for most of the night. Hearing reports of heavy damage along the eastern shore of NS as well as the northumberland coast. Strong surge noted in those areas. Damage reports will be slow to come in but this was no slouch of a storm. Especially out east of here.
  15. Lost power an hour ago. I’m gusting 95kmh or around 55mph. Still a while to go. Very heavy rain bands. I’m over 50mm (2”) and counting. Winds seem to be mixing down pretty good even inland where I’m at. Stormy night ahead.
  16. I’m wondering if the momentum is going to drag this east a bit.
  17. My bet is Canso for eye landfall. It’s on the mainland but it might be best as the causeway might get damaged or even destroyed. Best of luck. I’m going to hunker down at home. Got too much to worry about here to go chasing this. I’m sure I’ll get sone decent winds and hvy rain.
  18. I’m not far from there. The worst will definitely be east of here. Concern is heavy rain, which we should be able to handle due to our rain deficit. Might get some localized flooding with high rates but should drain off. Winds will be in the 60’s mph for gusts. Probably a few rogue gusts into the 70’s and possibly 80’s. I’m expecting a Juan type experience but boy are Cape Breton and PEI going to take this on the chin. Bad here. Ugly for them.
  19. Perfect storm…..on roids. Yay me. .
  20. Oh hell no. Nope no no. Not taking a right upper cut after Fiona’s left hook. F that. You guys have at er.
  21. Sable island is F’d. Like seriously screwed. If you could get out there to chase you would witness hell I’m sure. If you make it. The surge is going to be massive and monster waves on top. No words. .
  22. This is correct. Also storms of a tropical nature are more frequent now. In the past it was years in between glancing blows. Now we get a direct threat every couple.
  23. If you are on Twitter Look up #nsstorm Should be lots of good stuff in there.
