The NAM did an excellent job generally speaking with the colder air right along the north shore. This map is for 4PM. It shows the current situation between Northport and you very well:
The GEMLAM is backwards with regard to the cool air coming west along the North shore, the cool air line in Long Island right now is declining west to east, but the GEMLAM showed the line inclining west to east:
