  1. Your area is an island of some warmth. The NAM actually showed that spot on. Check out my previous post.
  2. The NAM did an excellent job generally speaking with the colder air right along the north shore. This map is for 4PM. It shows the current situation between Northport and you very well:
  3. Yea the temp gradient is insane right now on the north shore
  4. There's a spot just NE of Huntington where there is a 30 degrees spread in temps within a distance of a bit over a mile
  5. Northport now down to 52 degrees
  6. The GEMLAM is backwards with regard to the cool air coming west along the North shore, the cool air line in Long Island right now is declining west to east, but the GEMLAM showed the line inclining west to east:
  7. Cool air has reached Northport, 57 degrees there now. It's rushing west along the north shore the way the NAM had depicted.
  8. Doesn't feel that warm out. It's cloudy and super dry with a breeze so it's actually kind of nice haha
  9. Flanders Ambient weather stations now in the mid 50s, it helps that the wind is coming straight off Peconic Bay too.
  10. Solid torch on the island
  11. Mattituck down 20 degrees in 15 minutes
  12. You don't see that every day
  13. Mattituck 78 degrees, 10 minutes east in Greenport it's 52 degrees
  14. Peak your head out the window, you won't melt lol
  15. Meanwhile it's still near 80 close to Mattituck.
  16. Easthampton area went from the low 70s to now the low 50s.
  17. A couple days later the park got an inch of snow and there was also a low of 13 degrees.
  18. Looks Arctic. That day's high was 71 and the following day's low was 22 degrees.
  19. It's crazy how we'll go from 80 to 40s in a couple hours late this afternoon and evening. It's going to feel like this heat push was all a dream lol
  20. You have a couple more hours to peak
  21. It's actually hotter down the spine of Suffolk County than it is in Queens and NYC. Ambient Stations out there are in the upper 70s to near 80.
  22. The NY Mesonet comes in handy for live webcam shots and weather conditions. This is Saranac, not to be confused with Saranac Lake. It's a bit more north but the point still stands, look at this:
  23. People got used to Virginia averages and when we get a -1 with the new fake averages they act like it's the coming of an ice age lol
  24. It's an interesting weather phenomenon.
  25. It should be fun tracking the wind shift this afternoon.
