I saw all the roads were closed approaching Jones Beach.

Yesterday a lot of us were cloudy for a good chunk of the day until we got a few hours in the afternoon with some breaks of Sun. Then of course the scattered showers/storms came afterward. You got lucky down there by the beach.

Yea it clouded over pretty quickly. It looked so nice early this morning.

Earth regulates with the heat budget you give it. You can balance your home budget whether you make 50k a year or 500k a year. The Earth is simply getting a bigger heat budget so it will regulate itself at a higher temp level.

Our baselines are high. I worry what will happen when we get a real hot pattern set up. We have seen records shattered by huge margins worldwide when a hot pattern sets up over them. Our region hasn't really had that happen in several years. I can see the Fpizz to Newark corridor getting to 110F with the right pattern.

47 degrees here. LGA has the best chance of beating the record, they are at 49 degrees right now and temps will be pretty uniform today.

What type of heat source do you have?

18z GEMLAM still pretty decent for our area. RGEM was east at 12z as well. But NAMS got heavier and more west compared to 12z.
