  1. I don't see much milder. What's much milder? Milder than today? Sure. But there are no torches on the horizon, neither on the OPs or ensembles.
  2. The sky had the snow squally look this morning when that little burst occured over Queens, it's hard to describe but you know it when you see it
  3. My thermometer bottomed out at 33 degrees but I had a little puddle leftover from the rain and it was frozen.
  4. A burst of light snow with a coating on cars and colder surfaces. Nice to see!
  5. 33 degrees with some light flurries falling here.
  6. 39 here, temps will be much closer to eachother area wide tonight.
  7. That heavy blob really fell apart just as it was entering NYC
  8. It's better than Manhattan obviously. But, no where close to ideal. Western Brooklyn/Western Queens and Manhattan is the peak UHI zone. Since you're close to the park you at least have a good option to see better stickage. Overall though with a big well placed storm you will be fine. Problem is getting one lol
  9. I did the velveting technique on meat using baking soda and it came out phenomenal. Anybody else ever try it?
  10. 18z RGEM a bit colder than 12z for area wide first freeze: The 18z NAM also brings the city below freezing.
  11. It looks like he moved to Park Slope. Poor guy has to contend with one of the worst UHIs on Earth lol watching snowflakes melt on impact is painful He and Anthony could become buddies lol
  12. Ideally I'd have an open area 2 meters off the ground for temps and a pole above the roof at 10 meters but either can't be done. Would temps be affected if I put the thermometer literally next to one of those white solid plastic fences? Would the plastic fence affect readings?
  13. Awesome thanks! My station is about 18 feet off the ground, or 6 feet above my balcony since I mounted it on the railing. I bet my temps would be a little cooler if I had it closer to the ground.
  14. Looks like CAA with NW winds, I'm not sure if the winds will die for radiational cooling out there. The CAA is one of the reasons the city actually gets below freezing. But sometimes isolated spots have their winds die down anyway.
  15. 6z RGEM has solid freeze for the city Tuesday morning:
  16. WHY IS THE WIND HOWLING AGAIN This is bullshit
  17. 36 in NE Queens but there were 33-34 degree readings closer to the grand central
