  1. If only dewpoints could stay this low through the rest of summer.
  2. I agree, it's so stupid. RFK wants to ban them, but he'd lose in court. During the first Trump administration, he signed an EO that said they had to list their prices in ads. It was blocked by a federal judge. They need Congress to act.
  3. There shouldn't be any money at all from anyone IMO. Candidates should get 90 days at most to campaign and the feds give you set amount of cash.
  4. I just got a series of violent gusts out of nowhere.
  5. Are we using the latest averages for what normal precip is? We are up like 7 to 8 inches compared to 30 or 40 years ago I believe. So if the trees were doing just fine with 40 inches of rain, why do we need to maintain our current 50 inches of rain for them to do well? I think precip distribution is more important than annual totals, because the same trees are still out there from when they were only getting 40 inches and they did just fine.
  6. I hope we get steady breezes in the summer when we need them most. I can't stand that still, ultra humid, stagnant heat in summer that we get so much of. When I'm begging for even a breath of wind it's nowhere to be found.
  7. Pretty humid out today, terrible day overall. I didn't even get good rains from all these batches so I can say it was worth it.
  8. AIPAC budget is like 10 million a year tops. Qatar has donated over 6 BILLION to American universities over the last 20 years. We should move this to banter.
  9. 8 inches in that beast! I remember LGA was recording like nothing, but the station is right next to the water and I think that kept their temps at 34 ish and killed accumulation there. I have visual confirmation that the local roads literally right next to the airport by the Marine Terminal had 4+ inches. I lucked out and was in a bit of a local jackpot. That storm broke a branch and landed on my car and dented my roof and broke off my driver's side door mirror.
  10. I think precip rates east of Manhattan kind of sucked too. I got barely a coating while Astoria had snow on the ground
  11. Technically, because of the nature of the atmosphere, every single weather event and observation is influenced by climate change. The atmosphere is one big system.
  12. For Autumn I like crisp 50s. I like 60s too but 70s are too high for Autumn. Still feels like the tail end of summer with those temps.
  13. I think satellites and light pollution are your biggest problem haha
  14. I hate this new climate. If I wanted to live in a subtropical climate I'd move there.
  15. Autumn is my favorite season, which I believe is also the fastest warming season :/ Man that pisses me off, I can't catch a break.
  16. I'd call 70s spring though. If that's what counts as summer I'd be for a 6 month long version of it lol
  17. March was +4 and so far April is +1 so I'm not surprised things greened up in a hurry. The sad thing is people I know were acting like it was so cold this spring and winter lol they have lost all sense of perspective. It's been above normal for so long that they've gotten used to North Carolina averages.
  18. Bro of all the years lol 2015 was like the last time we had a few months in a row for real below normal, including March being almost -5. April finished slightly above normal. So I'm not surprised that season was behind this one.
  19. Today is a bust of a day. Crap day.
  20. Maybe we should move this convo into banter, I would engage a bit more there since I wouldn't feel like I'm dragging the weather thread off topic.
  21. The issue is whether they get the care they were paying for year after year via insurance premiums, not whether they get a medication. BTW the people who are running defence for the healthcare industry are the same people who would call you a killer because of your COVID vaccine haha. You're not on the same side, I promise you. Paying for a service and then getting denied when you need said service is textbook fraud. That CEO was a POS. Oh no he was a father! Who cares. So is Kilmar.
  22. I have a Camellia almost 20 feet tall that's doing well. Currently it's full of big deep pink flowers.
  23. I peaked at 76 degrees and now down to around 72.
