  1. Let's hope that map is wrong. I despise warm Septembers. It's a major mood kill for those who like fall.
  2. Today I managed to make it all the way through the day without turning on the AC with the good breeze helping. Clouds came back like an hour after I wrote that which helped keep the house from getting too warm on the 2nd floor. I just wanted to avoid the AC for one day and the clouds were the only way I was going to pull it off.
  3. You and I have had this conversation before I remember this pic haha I think we concluded it was hit and miss depending on the area.
  4. Some people said that for some places but other locations were abysmal. I know because I saw the garbage color myself.
  5. I don't remember if you needed the rain or not but you did get shafted with this, you have one of the lowest totals in the area. I got skunked a bit as well considering the surrounding amounts, northern Queens and Nassau had between 0.4 and 0.6 but closer to an inch just a couple miles south of me and much bigger amounts just north as well.
  6. This would be quite the day:
  7. Where do you keep your boat? I was in Northport on Saturday and there were dolphins in the bay just outside the marina.
  8. Greeks do the same thing as well.
  9. They have no stations in eastern Queens anyway, Queens College is the farthest east they get and that's barely east of the Van Wyck. You basically have nothing in the eastern half of the borough that faces Nassau. And technically it was part of the state Mesonet. And the sensor is on the roof of a building 50 feet up.
  10. The end of the 6z GFS reaches September 1st. The end is near
  11. I love climate change talk because I love winter. And my favorite season is Autumn, the biggest casualty of climate change.
  12. It would be pretty weird to discuss hyper local temperature and precipitation trends in a general climate change thread. And departures don't mean shit anymore unfortunately when they're shifting so quick. Your -1 was considered slightly above normal just 5 years ago. I'd rather discuss overall monthly averages and rank them coldest to warmest according to the available record than use departure.
