Did i just see ball lightning... I was looking north at the thunderstorm in the distance and saw a ball of light in the distance. Not blinking, either. floated horizontally across the anvil for about 4 seconds and disappeared.

This summer heat is imaginary. It only feels hot because it's so cold, and if you see green grass and blue sky you're hallucinating. Ripping fatties in my yard right now and 27/26. Can't see across the yard, blowing and drifting on the front porch. 18'' and counting.

Had 40 90 degree days so far, today likely the 41st. Nearest weather station KMDGREEN11. This is easily one of the hottest summers i've had.

Small spinny cloud gordon looks more like a 40 MPH TS. Recon obviously confused on where to go, and they're only finding 35kt winds so far. Tumbleweeds

Classic anvil storms really spreading out over there in Delaware. Can see the outline and the darker underside. Also @C.A.P.E. Have you been to Pizza Empire in Baltimore corner? They have delicious club sandwich specials.

Who needs a hot tub when you can just swim in an 85 degree pool... Been such a hot summer, miserable. Lots of days where the dewpoints were in the low 80s.

Today's climo is 4 degrees cooler than 1 month ago, and the rate of climo drop is starting to accelerate.

September 1st. Meteorological fall. Now i'm starting to think about winter which brings thoughts of my A/C heater running and feeling cold just by thinking of snow... Space heater while watching snow fall and drinking hot chocolate at the same time. Not too long from now...

Got back from my trip. I wish i sent some pictures.. But today i went to the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy air and space museum. Saw the original restored Enola Gay and the SR-71 blackbird, the Concorde and last but not least, the Space shuttle Discovery.

In Virginia right now near Dulles airport for a small two day trip. Tomorrow I'm going with family to the air and space museum and some exploring. I think the national weather service Sterling is only 3 miles away.. I might send some pics.

The best chance for storms is in the late afternoon and evenings according to meso guidance here. HRRR looks pretty wet just north.

If there's a forecaster i would avoid, It's definitely DT wxrisk. That guy boy needs a little timeout and gets overly angry for seemingly no reason. Should not be on social media and is a keyboard warrior. crankyweatherguy is always my #1 source.

Looks like fall sky here. Don't usually see these kinds of clouds in mid august. I think i'm getting backdoored.

The late summer birds are starting to chirp here. Haven't heard those until now. Seasons are changing soon.
